Villa Caprera was built in 1890. My great great grand father bought it shortly after it was built. My family has been living there since. It is part of a small village of houses in liberty style surrounded by a countryside of olive trees and walnut trees. It is only three minutes by car from Siena city centre. It is the perfect location for exploring the most famous villages and vineries in Tuscany. The villa includes five apartments; each of them has its own special charm.
I was born in Italy, but I now live in London with my husband. I am an architect in a large firm. I love designing anything from small objects to large buildings. Cooking is another passion which comes from my family. My parents live in Siena at Villa Caprera. They are the ones who keeps it beautiful! My mum makes amazing cakes. If you are lucky you may find one at your arrival.
The village is at the end of a road so no traffic passing through here. It is a very quite spot. The neighbour house are lived by local residents, who love sitting out of their door in summer evenings for chatting and knitting. At walking distance there is a very old monastery and our local countryside church. Walking paths all around the village leading to the open country. Siena, which you can reach by car or by bus, is where you will spend most of the time visiting incredible monuments, museums, old streets and galleries, but also where you can find elegant shops, delicatessen and restaurants.
