Most people take their photos right in front. There are hundreds of people especially between 10am and 3pm. Go around 4pm and walk to the other side of the tower. You get great shots and less crowded areas.

We happened to be at the Leaning Tower just before 10pm and got tickets for walking up with no queue. Worth trying at this time if you didn't manage to get tickets during the day (it closed at 10pm when we were there in August 2019).

The leaning tower is, well, leaning.. great to see this...
The leaning tower is, well, leaning.. great to see this iconic landmark, but not sure it is worth paying €18 to go up it. I preferred the view from the ground. I recommend visiting at night when it was cooler and less crowded, but beautifully illuminated.

The apartment is walking distance both from the airport and the railway station (10-10 mins), yet very quiet (this coming from a light sleeper). Beds are comfy, 2 bathrooms were very convenient for a family. Marco arranges everything very smoothly, and also gave recommendations of ongoing events in Pisa. Leaning Tower of Pisa is a bit further from the apartment, but it's a very nice Pisa exploring walk (we walked to and back with 2 kids). Highly recommended!AndreaHungary

From the train station I arrived quite quickly with a bus that had a stop in front of the hotel. The breakfast was very good, a lot of food and variety, for all tastes. The hotel also has a restaurant where various dishes can be served. Also, we were able to serve a cocktail in the hotel lobby.

You can book tickets ahead for the Leaning Tower of Pisa - we bought tickets at the booking office to go up the tower for the following day. They are sold in blocks and in August you can book for times running well into the evening (we did 7.30pm) when it is a little cooler!
