In a quiet and scenic location at 1,200 metres above sea level, Hotel-Restaurant Siesta Balea is located in Piscul Negru on the Transfagarasan National Road. I saw Google photos prior to arriving and was a bit worried and made the wrong choice - it looked very worn out. In reality, the photos on Booking were more accurate than Google. The room was spacious, in good condition and smelt heavenly. Thermostatic heaters kept us warm at night. The restaurant was simple but good.

We especially want to thank the staff and the reception host that helped us book all the activities and was very attentive to all the requests. This is the best service level we have seen in Romania so far. I highly recommend the hotel and plan to come back again.
