L'Oyado Koto No Yume es troba a 2 minuts a peu de l'estació de Takayama i ofereix habitacions d'estil japonès amb un toc de color. It's really hard to express how superb this stay was. And it was only 1 day. I imagine this is thanks to type of the place, not being typical hotel, but rather traditional ryokan with it's quality. From the beginning, the staff was excellent. Helpful, informative, easy to talk to. The room, comparing to our other hotels, was huge. Sleeping on futon was our best sleeping experience during whole stay in Japan. We have booked private bath, and again - everything well prepared, all important things available in the room. We were provided also with yukatas to be used in ryokan, but in addition we could also use more colorful that could be used outside. Hotel is 5 minutes walk from main station and on the way to old town of Takayama. The last but not least - breakfast was the best we had in Japan. We have chosen Japanese one and we could try many elements.

Offering a garden and garden view, Nagataki is located in Nakatsugawa, 13 km from Ōi and 34 km from Japan Taisho Village. The property is allergy-free and is situated 12 km from Enakyo Wonderland. Very beautiful hotel with a rich history. Amazing experience and especially thanks to the staff of Nagatiki for welcoming us in Nakatsugawa.

Featuring free WiFi throughout the property, Shiroyamakan offers accommodation in Shirakawa, 1.4 km from Shirakawago. Free private parking is available on site. The entire property is non-smoking. Shiroyamakan was AMAZING and one of the best place we ever stayed at in Japan… or in the world! It is run by a loving family who put their heart into hosting guests. They renovated the place with great taste and the perfect mixture of old and new. The aesthetic of the place is incredibly gorgeous. The ryokan also smells amazing. Our room was one of a kind too. It was 120 years old and it took our breath away the moment they opened the door. They have 2 beautiful bathrooms and I was really happy we could use it privately as a couple. The location is absolutely perfect. Right in front of the bus stop, at the entrance of Shirakawago. We came by car though and they provided us with a big private parking. Dinner was one of the best we’ve had in Japan with local products and exquisite dishes. We were blown away by the kindness and attention to details of the family. Honestly no words can do justice to how exceptional and special this place is! Go find out for yourselves but be aware that you will never want to leave!

Situated in a tranquil area in Gifu Region, a 52-minute drive away from JR Takayama Station, Mozumo boasts a hot-spring bath and rooms decorated with modern Japanese interior. A beautiful hotel that offers rooms with a private onsen. I only stayed one night but wished I could stay longer.

Founded in 1860, Juhachiro is located along Nagara River and boasts indoor and outdoor natural hot spring baths. The property is a 15-minute bus ride from Gifu Train Station. The staff is amazing, went above and beyond for us. We had a Japanese style room with a river view, it was great. The dinner was perfect, and so is the Onsen.

Awarded by TripAdvisor Travelers' Choice in 2015, Wanosato offers luxurious Japanese-style ryokan stay in a 160-year-old quaint Gassho-zukuri thatched-roof house, nestled in the tranquil woods. Smooth travelling and pick up. Japanese original breakfast was very good recommend to try

Offering traditional Japanese-style accommodation with spacious public baths, Yatsusankan is a 6-minute walk from JR Hidafurukawa Train Station. I came here for my birthday. Unfortunately we didn't get there until late around 8pm, due to trains and train problems: they leave Nagoya every 2 hours and ours was delayed (so give yourself time to get there at a reasonable time) {I phoned them to let them know we would be late},you will also need to take a local train from Takayama. It was raining and we were cold and tired. Since we were late I wasn't sure if we would get supper even though I had paid for it. But thankfully we did and the food was excellent! Very fancy! We ate in a private dinning room looking out on to a garden. Our room was excellent! It was quite big for Japan. There was tatami mats, interesting monkey scroll in the alcove, interesting classy furnishings even the bathroom sink was beautiful. The hot springs/ baths were very good , I enjoyed the outdoor ones which had beautiful gardens. I loved wandering the halls of this ryokan lots of traditional architecture and art work (a beautiful folding screen). You really can feel the history of this hotel.

El Sumiyoshi Ryokan, situat en una casa unifamiliar històrica a tan sols 1 minut a peu del mercat matutí de Miyagawa, al cor de la localitat de Takayama, ofereix allotjaments acollidors d'estil... Allotjament tradicional amb molt d’encant. Ja només pel menjar que et preparen val la pena, el sopar i berenar són exquisits.
