ONSEN RYOKAN Yuen Sapporo features a sauna and a hot spring bath, as well as air-conditioned accommodation in the centre of Sapporo, 1.8 km from Sapporo Station. The onsen was better than we thought it would be. We loved the robes for going to the onsen. They were really beautiful. We also loved the shoes in the room.

Boasting open-air hot spring baths and ocean views, Wakamatsu Hot Spring Resort is a 15-minute drive from JR Hakodate Station. Free parking is available on site. The dinner and breakfast were absolutely amazing. The food is some of the best Washoku I have had in a long long time. The room had a massive double king bed and a beautiful view of the ocean. The private onsen was also so amazing. Apparently, one of the taxi drivers my partner and I took mentioned that Emperor Hirohito back in Showa 1954 had apparently stayed at this location many years ago. That should pretty much describe how amazing this place is.

Hotel Kifu Hotel Shiretoko is a 10-minute drive from Shiretoko National Park, which is assigned as a UNESCO World Heritage. A lovely small hotel facing the Sea of Okhotsk where you can see a beautiful sunset right in front of your room. The Japanese-style room is spacious with a large window facing the sea. The private open bath is excellent. At dinner, you get the chance to make a variety of tempura by yourself which is kind of fun. This hotel is not far from Oshinkoshin Waterfalls and the Shiretoko Nature Center and the five lakes. I will definitely come back again, perhaps in mid-February to see the ice floes in front of this hotel.

Offering affordable Japanese-style accommodations, Mimatsuso Ryokan is a 5-minute drive on the free shuttle from JR Asahikawa Train Station. The owners were incredibly kind and welcoming and the breakfast was fantastic!

Offering river views, Suigan is an accommodation set in Jozankei, 32 km from Shin-Sapporo Station and 43 km from Otarushi Zenibako City Center. The staff was very caring. The room was beautiful and comfortable. Access to free drinks and snacks. The food was delicious.
