The restaurant downstairs, owned by the same people served excellent food and offered a discount for those renting the apartment. The host Maikel was excellent, attentive and generous, allowing me to stay for a final night free of charge when it became apparent that I had made a mistake with my departure date. If I return to Madeira, I will definitely consider these apartments again. 10 out of 10

While Machiko is not a touristy destination it's a perfect place to stay if you want to access several hikes in the area and we loved getting the local flavor of the town which is much less touristy than Funchal. The apartment was perfect in the best location one block from the water with lots of restaurants within a block, including a delicious coffee shop across the street. Completely new and clean. Everything was thought of down to the last detail, including a care package of local goodies. The host was easy to get in touch with and very responsive. I initially was concerned about comments regarding construction, but while there was some construction the noise did not bother us at all.

Great location, close to the Ponta do Sol. You can hear and see the ocean right from your balcony. Beach is about 100m away, you only need to cross quite a busy street. There is also a nice, glazed private pool on the outside terrace as well as some sunbeds and parasols. Parking is free, on the street. We did not have any problems with street parking there.

The apartment has everything you need in everyday life. There is also a terrace with city views
