We used this accommodation as our home base for several day tours in the Finnish lake region, and we do not regret it for a small moment. A nice small guesthouse with a private sauna, just a short walk away from the harbour, offers anything you need as a tourist. Granted, the room may not have the most modern look, but we were happy nonetheless: the room was spotlessly clean, and the kitchen has many utensils. The biggest asset of this guesthouse? The host: a very kind and welcoming lady who helped us on our way multiple times. This hospitality was also reflected in all common areas, which were breathing a cozy 'welcome home'-atmosphere. I would most definitely book here again.

Exploring the nearby trails was a true highlight, offering a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The hosts were exceptionally welcoming and accommodating. They went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Their local insights and recommendations added an extra layer of authenticity to my experience. I also appreciated the well-equipped kitchen, allowing for home-cooked meals amidst the natural beauty that surrounded us. The communal spaces were inviting, providing opportunities to connect with fellow travelers and share stories. In short, the Finnish House near the forest is a hidden gem that offers a perfect blend of comfort, nature, and hospitality. I left feeling rejuvenated and inspired, and I cannot wait to return.
