Thanks for the owner, Laura. The train service stopped due to land slide and we faced difficulty in reaching and leaving Varenna. Difficult to catch a taxi to leave Varenna to Lecco for onward train to Milano. Laura was kind enough to order a taxi for us. Clean and quiet room. Excellently located very close to the pier - good when raining.

the host was very responsive and helpful and friendly. He came to give us the keys and explained the house to us. He was always available by whatsapp during the stay for questions. He gave us a bottle of prosecco and cookies and biscuits for breakfast, very accomodating and comfortable stay :)

Christian was a perfect host. He picked us up from the train station in his personal car with his adorable side kick Silly. He brought us through town pointing out key places as we drove by and took us straight to reception, We checked in and he offered us several suggestions for places to eat and must see sights around the lake. Christian made reservations for us for dinner for both nights we were there. Then suggested a couple of places for lunch and appertivo.

We arrived at Casa Mary at night and when we walked in the apartment we could not believe our luck. The room were spacious and the view from every angle was spectacular. It was beautiful looking at all the lights around Lake Como. The apartment had everything you needed. The balcony was huge and just lovely to sit and relax. Mary even left a gift for us which was such a lovely touch. Thank you Mary. We would highly recommend this place. If we ever come back to Varenna we will certainly come back to Casa Mary. Being close to the ferries we visited a lot of the towns and Varenna was our favourite.

The view across Lake Como is the perfect way to start and end the day, the ferry is super close and the train station just up the hill. Best of all is the owner, Laura, who makes guests feels as part of her family. In addition, she is most knowledgeable of all aspects of Varenna, Bellagio, and Lake Como. The views of the apartment are even prettier than the pictures, it was like a dream. The location is perfect and you can access every other villa very easily, plus varenna itself is stunning. If you're questioning if you should pick this place or not: do it, stay here. This place has truly made our trip absolutely memorable. It's close to everything you need and want to see. The host Roberto is the best, he helped us from the train station and drove us to Varenna anytime we needed. He even took us to see the whole lake by boat. The experience was beautiful and writing this makes me want to book the next trip already. Lake Como, the villa and Roberto is worth visiting more than once

Though our 1st 2 days had cloudy, rainy weather, this was a wonderful place and town to come back to each day. Our room had its own balcony which we finally could use, but the last, sunny day Mauro recommended we walk along the lake to Tremezzio to see the art filled mansion and spectacular gardens of Villa Charlotta - a real treat!
