Emilija, our host, is a gem!!! Before we left home she was prompt and very helpful in responding to all our emails. She gave us lots of useful information on everything from eateries, supermarkets and transport to touristy things. We made the mistake of not taking her offer to arrange a taxi from the airport; instead we took a taxi from the rank. It dropped us nowhere near the apartment so we dragged our heavy luggage around cobble-stoned Republic Street most of which is pedestrianised and crowded with spatially unaware tourists (a bit like ourselves) looking unsuccessfully for the apartment. Eventually we called her and she rescued us by meeting us and dragging one of the suitcases about one kilometer to the apartment on a hot, humid day. That's going well and truly above and beyond the line of duty. If we'd taken the taxi she arranged, the driver would have dropped us to our doorstep and it would have cost us the same as the airport taxi!! So take her advice. The apartment is refurbished and modern with induction hotplates, a microwave, an oven, small fridge and separate freezer together with a dishwasher and washing machine. The bed is very comfortable. Although there's a lift, I enjoyed the workout of the stairs. There's a small store immediately next door with a lovely, helpful lady owner and another store 20 paces away which between them have all the essentials including fruit and vegetables at very reasonable prices. There's a bewildering array of eateries within half a kilometer. We ate at the Beati Paoli which Emilija recommended for its rabbit. A good choice.

The location is excellent, very close to the central pedestrian road, with easy bus or ferry boat connection, safe, quiet, with available parking places on the street and very easy to find! The apartment is decorated in a simple and classy way, fully equipped with anything a traveller needs- we especially appreciated tho coffee!-and a few small architectural suprises, such as the ceiling, the wooden doors and the closed patio, so characteristic of the old city's architecture. Our hosts were very polite and patient and they always replied to anything we asked very quickly.

Takterrassene er et ekstra pluss. Utsikten over Valletta, nabobyene og Grand Habour er et fantastisk skue og sitte der med et glass vin er en opplevelse i seg selv. Leiligheten ligger meget sentralt i Valletta. Det er kun noen få minutter til alle severdighetene. Verten, Patrick, er både hjelpsom og hyggelig. Vi hadde et meget fint opphold i leiligheten og Valletta.

Sentralt beliggende med gå avstand til alle severdighetene i den gamle byen, og til den offentlige elevator (60 meter) ned til havnefronten med fergeterminaler. Meget hyggelig og hjelpsomt vertskap. Kan absolutt anbefales!
