We would highly recommend El Peregrino to anyone visiting Ometepe. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were cleaned every day, there is a mosquito/insect screen door so your room is always comfortable plus a fan in the room. The location is great, base yourself here with a scooter, there is no need to stay on the other side of the island. The communal areas make it easy to mix with other people and you are embedded in nature. José the owner was incredibly helpful to us throughout our stay. The kitchen was excellent. The garden was full of fruit and veg which we were free to use. Amazing place!

Amazing hostel! Clean. Staff go out if their way to help. Free coffee ☕ and drinking water available all day. The free pickup at the dock was a great service. I'll definitely return here when I'm in town again.

I left two pouches with my passport, money, and everything important I was traveling with at the Guest House Nena when I departed to take a ferry back to San Jorge. I had no idea I had left them! They were under a sheet on the bed that I had inadvertently covered them with. After the people at the Guesthouse found my pouches and their valuable contents, they looked around for me, and the young lady from the Nena eventually ended up boarding ferry before we left and asked for me. Fortunately, she found me. I thanked her profusely and gave her a hug. I was extremely happy and grateful to have my stuff and to have adverted a semi-disaster. I owe that girl and the Guest House Nena in Moyogalpa….

If you want a peaceful sleep at night without the constant sound of dogs barking…this is your place. So quiet. The owners are there to help you. On site there are cows, horses, talking parrots and a beautiful (non barking dog)😁 It truly is a magical place…I’ve been to Moyogalpa 4 times now and this is by far my favourite. Thanks for having me…see you soon Hostal Nathaly..great job.

Price/quality wise = 10! -The bed and the private room were comfortable with a (strong) fan that did its work perfectly -Bathroom ok (shower only cold water (like everywhere in Moyogalpa?), but no big problem in the climate over there) and is shared with the hosting family and other guests -WiFi worked very well in the room and outside -Location a few steps from the dock/ferry and in the center, so close to restaurants, supermarket and other stores -The owner Esmeralda can arrange tours and scooter rental (including instruction if needed) for good prices -Outside/patio area where you can sit/hang out -There’s a kitchen you can use -Free drinking water -If it’s open: the on site restaurant offers very decently priced food+drinks -Friendly and helpful staff❤️

Beautiful private rooms with big comfortable beds. Towel provided, warm showers. A/C is amazing and made for a brilliant night sleep. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Only a few minutes walk to the port, very easy to get the ferry.
