The host helped us a lot. When we came we did not have any food with us, he lent us his scooter for free to go get some food in town. We could also store our baggage when exploring the island for a few days. Great location with a nice vibe. Would come again.

Helpful & welcoming staff. We had the option to upgrade to air conditioning for an extra $10/night. It was hot, so we took it. The staff connected us to reasonably-priced & trustworthy scooter rentals, so that was a real bonus. They also prepared a breakfast for us at short-notice when we realized we wanted to catch a ferry at a certain time, so that was appreciated. Other reviews mention "sketchy characters" around, but nobody bothered us out on the streets at all. Definitely recommended!

Lovely and extremely helpful and supportive staff! They advised me on how to get around the island and even offered to take me to the port by motorcycle so I could catch my ferry in the morning. The hostel has a nice terrasse and a very clean and well-equipped kitchen, as well as good fans in the dorm. Definitely recommend!

I left two pouches with my passport, money, and everything important I was traveling with at the Guest House Nena when I departed to take a ferry back to San Jorge. I had no idea I had left them! They were under a sheet on the bed that I had inadvertently covered them with. After the people at the Guesthouse found my pouches and their valuable contents, they looked around for me, and the young lady from the Nena eventually ended up boarding ferry before we left and asked for me. Fortunately, she found me. I thanked her profusely and gave her a hug. I was extremely happy and grateful to have my stuff and to have adverted a semi-disaster. I owe that girl and the Guest House Nena in Moyogalpa….

If you want a peaceful sleep at night without the constant sound of dogs barking…this is your place. So quiet. The owners are there to help you. On site there are cows, horses, talking parrots and a beautiful (non barking dog)😁 It truly is a magical place…I’ve been to Moyogalpa 4 times now and this is by far my favourite. Thanks for having me…see you soon Hostal Nathaly..great job.

Our stay in Ometepe was absolutely wonderful, thanks to Esmeralda. She went above and beyond to assist us with every aspect of our visit. From meeting us at the ferry station in pouring rain to arranging transportation for our large luggage. Esmeralda even took the initiative to find and book a guide for our Volcano hike, as well as assisting us in planning other activities on the island. Esmeralda also rents motorbikes, which we would highly recommend to use. It’s very handy to use on the island, and give you some independence. Also, would be way cheaper than the taxi. Despite our lack of experience with motorbikes, Esmeralda patiently explained everything, helped us with practice, and guided us through Ometepe's challenging capital roads. She truly made our motorbike experience enjoyable and safe. Moreover, noticed my injured leg, she offered to arrange for an osteopath and even went the extra mile to pick him up, allowing me to receive treatment in the comfort of the accommodation. Also, we even got a help with washing and drying out dirty clothes after the hike. We travel a lot and I don’t think we ever had such a great assistance while having so many issues anywhere else. On top of everything, the accommodations were delightful, with well-maintained and charming surroundings, a spacious common area, and a lovely garden. We wholeheartedly recommend to stay at Esmeralda’s.

Super friendly staff and the family that owns it that’s there on weekends. I was there cause of a motorcycle accident on the island and they were super helpful with going to pharmacy and anything I needed. Highly recommend this place. The facilities are super clean and nice common area to hang out in

Danilo was the perfect host. The property was very clean and new, with a nice garden area. Danilo was helpful in every aspect. Whether it was getting a great deal for a scooter, or recommendations on where to eat or what activities were available, he was on top of it all. You get a great place to stay and a wealth of information. You will not do better at this price point. Thank you Danilo
