In our four months traveling in South America, Posada Maria is by far the best guesthouse we have stayed in. Immaculately clean. Spacious, comfortable rooms, and nice common area for relaxing. Great value for the price. Maria, her family, and the staff are very welcoming. Wonderful buffet breakfast each morning with delicious brown bread and jams. Ice cream, baked goods, and dinner available at the cozy guesthouse restaurant (bring your appetite, the dinner portions are big!). Very quiet place...we slept really well. WIFI works well. Location is fantastic (across the street from the Jesuit mission ruins). If you don't have your own transport, ask at the ticket office about a taxi to Jesús de Tavarangue (one of their staff members actually drove us to the site, waited an hour, and brought us back for a reasonable price).
