The host made us feeling like home. She is extremely welcoming, prepares amazing breakfast, coffee and house-made lemonade in-between. I can definitely recommend the offered tour to the Tatacoa desert. They also organized a collectivo back to neiva for us.

It was really cool to be out in the middle of nowhere in the desert. The hotel is very rustic and located on a functioning ranch with cows and horses and everything. It is also walking distance from the two grey desert hiking trails. The owner was really friendly and fun to chat with as well as helpful with anything we needed. The food was also some of the best hotel food we’ve had.

Biohotel tatacoa Qji is set in Villavieja and has a pool with a view and garden views. There is an in-house restaurant and free private parking. Everything! I wish I could stay here longer to enjoy this beautiful eco friendly location. Lovely friendly people, beautiful nature surroundings and cute huts. Fall asleep on a comfy mattress protected with mosquito net and enjoy nature sounds. The pool filled with river water is so refreshing and calming. They also had vegan and vegetarian food :D

A recently renovated guest house, LUNA del DESIERTO TATACOA offers accommodation in Villavieja. Free WiFi is available and private parking can be arranged at an extra charge. The owners of the hostal are very kind and friendly. They prepared breakfast for us at 5:30 o'clock just because we wanted to leave at 6:00 in the desert. It was very clean in the rooms and in the bathrooms.

I loved the cottage, and the whole feel of it. It felt like we were secluded, so that was really nice.

Our stay was absolutely amazing (special thanks to Hilda and the entire staff for being simply amazing). We booked a 3 people tent which not only had a fan but an air conditioner as well. The property was clean with bathrooms situated in various convenient locations. The property also has a nice pool (where we spent our afternoons and evenings). The property is situated 10 min walking from the town of Villavieja (good location). The staff was simply amazing: accommodating, hard-working, always smiling and always made us feel welcomed and at home. We will keep them in our hearts 🤍
