Staff were also really kind and flexible to allowing us to have our breakfast the night before (as supper) since we set out early in the morning (1am) for our Ijen hike and would not be able to eat it the next day. Staff was also very thoughtful to give us a night cream to keep insects away. Overall, a lovely place to rest in :) Thank you Tommy and staff!

The dorm, where you basically sleep in the open, the common area, everything. It is a place where you will find chill people, can enjoy surfing with literally no people in the water (apart from the people staying at Harry´s and few locals) and not many other tourists. For me it is the spot to learn how to surf, since it is a beach break (safe), only few surfers, but still some good swell. It is perfect for relaxing and extending your stay to more than just a few days (I ended up staying a month). You can rent a surfboard and scooter for a really fair price (cheapest I have had in my travels). Tina and Gayun who run the hostel are super friendly too. I am already planning to come back at the end of my travels :)

The staff is extremely kind and helpful, they went oit of their way to make our stay comfortable. Our bungalow was clean and spacious. Their food was delicious and the portion sizes are big. They always had vegetarian options for us. We did the trip to Sukamade beach to see the big turtle and see the baby turtles. The 2day/1night trip was absolutely worth it. We ended up extending our stay.

The chilling area on the first floor is so nice! It has a real cozy atmosphere. The double rooms are wonderful, it feels like glamping. We had to fight for the upper room going up with the ladder ;-) There are two bathrooms, this is enough for the number of rooms. They were clean and the view is great when you are taking your ‘outside’ shower! The owner is vey friendly and organised our trip for mount Ijen and the transfer to the harbour. No hassle… Breakfast was simple but good quality. Staying in a real bamboo house was very special to us. We would definitely have loved to stay more nights if it would have been available!

We came as a group of 5 friends, all 20 yo. Very nice hosts, they gave us an itinerary for our day of visiting malang! The rooms and collective places were VERY VERY CLEAN. The cleanest hotel we have never been to! Great pick up point for Mount Bromo. While waiting for our train the day we were supposed to leave, the hosts kept our luggages, let us use the shower and collective place and even gave us a room for the whole day!!!

The host is wonderful and super helpful with planning tours to Ijen, renting motorbike and any other inquiries you may have. He was easy to communicate with and gave us great tips on local places to go check out. He makes a great breakfast and even made sure we had fried bananas as a snack before leaving for our Mount Ijen tour at midnight. He really makes this homestay have tremendous value! The rooms and bathroom were clean and spacious. It was nice to have the toilet and shower separated by a small wall and there was hot water in the shower. The bed was comfortable and the AC worked well enough to keep us cool. The WiFi worked well, as we had no issues when browsing the internet and looking at reviews of places/tours. My wife and I had a wonderful stay here and I would highly recommend. Great base for Ijen tours.

The food is great, especially the banana pancakes in the morning ! The location of the guest house is close to the Ijen which is about a 30 minute drive. We also joined a tour of the Ijen organised by the guest house, which includes a local guide and the transportation to and from the guest house. The guest house in itself allows you to fully relax and recover by the pool or the small huts with comfortable sofa's. They have plenty of animals (otters, a goose, friendly cats and a dog) wandering around making you feel like you're in a national park.
