This was probably our favourite overnight stay of our entire trip. The hosts were lovely, the food was fantastic, the room and beds were incredibly comfortable. If we could have we would have happily stayed longer. We have no doubt that we intend to go back in the future.

He recommended us some good restaurants and brote us to the bus station in the morning because the bus was not running due to Japan’ golden week! Great host!

The location might seem a little far from the train stations, but the host offered afternoon pick up and morning drop off services. (If you don't have a lot of luggage to carry, the walk is easy enough too.) I saw information that guests can rent a bicycle now too, although I didn't ask about that. The room and bathroom had everything I needed. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming (and spoke English too), and the facilities were clean and comfortable. As mentioned in the information, they do have pets, but don't let that scare you off if you aren't a pet person -- the animals didn't seem particularly interested in the guests anyway.

Itomori is gebouwd in 2018 en ligt op 7 minuten lopen van het JR Takayama Station. Het oude centrum van Takayama ligt op 6 minuten lopen en Takayama Jinya ligt op 10 minuten lopen. Excellent location, close to everything but still quiet. Beds were extremely comfortable. The air conditioning worked very well.
