Where do I even begin… Anathan’s place was an oasis, a safe haven for me after I spent a few days in the hectic and chaotic Colombo. From the very first moment that I arrived to the very last minute that I left, I always felt taken care of, spoiled almost, and above everything, I felt at home. In fact, Anathan’s place was so comfortable, so peaceful that it felt almost difficult to get out and explore the town. Obviously a home isn’t a home without its host. And for that, I have to thank Ananthan for going above and beyond to provide me with a comfortable stay. He always made sure that I had enough for breakfast, always asked if I wanted more tea and coffee (and yes, please), and even brought me along to the ceremonies at the Nallur temple where his family and friends were also there, welcoming me with unparalleled warmth and hospitality. Even though I was a solo traveller, I had never felt lonely during the entire stay. Ananthan was always there should I need anything. It brought me great joy and peace just to sit by the patio and listen to the singing of the birds and the rustling of the trees. I was sad that I could not stay longer. And I’d return, time and again.

Berty was a very amicable, courteous host in his home. Right from the start he helped in arranging pick up from the airport & a warm welcome at his place. Room was simple but quiet, clean and comfortable. Location excellent. Breakfast was fresh and well prepared. He also helped in organising tours around Jaffna and taxi service to Colombo. If you are looking for simple yet comfortable homestay in Jaffna, Berty Cottage is a gem of a place sure to satisfy most guests.

We liked the place but you do need your own transportation to get there. The accommodation has its own kitchen, 2 bathrooms and 2 beds. We got dinner from the neighbor twice and it was beyond delicious!! The walk to the beach is short. The owners are super friendly and caring, it was a pleasure to stay here. Malabar home stay se află în Jaffna, la 3,2 km de Templul Nallur Kandaswamy, și are o grădină și unități de cazare cu bucătărie. Very homely, room was large and clean with good airconditioning. The host was super nice, helpful and friendly, always around to offer help. His wife makes the most delicious home made Jaffna food, try the mutton and crab curry. The place is on a very quiet street, however, it was easy to get a tuk tuk in and out of town or to any place of interest.

Delft Village Stay se află în Delft East și are biciclete gratuite. Excellent hostel on the remote island of Delft. The owner has put a lot of effort into making the place really welcoming. The tents all have fans and outlets for charging your phone. Tommy, the owner, is super friendly and accommodating. Considering its location, it's pretty amazing that there are so many comforts! Drinking water is provided for only 50 rupees a liter. Tommy and his family will also make breakfast and dinner for a nominal cost.
