ONEPU MOANA RETREAT Holiday Home is located in Opononi and offers a terrace. With ocean views, this accommodation provides a patio. A stunning place to stay for an extended family who travelled from Taranaki Gisborne and Auckland to attend a marae opening.

Marriner's Boutique Guesthouses in Rawene offers bungalows with free parking and free WiFi. Full in-room dinner service is available by arrangement. We stayed one night in the larger bungalow with sea views, and thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Robyn has been so welcoming, lovely and attentive, we immediately felt like home. The bungalow was spacious, exceptionally well-maintained and meticulously clean. We ordered a "room service", a home cooked meal made by Robyn herself, for dinner (including homemade ice cream that was beyond delicious!), and loved every bite of it. Strongly recommend staying here - there's loads to do in the area, and Robyn is the perfect hostess. Thanks for having us!

Waiotemarama Falls Lodge is a holiday home located in Opononi, 47 km from Kaitaia. Guests benefit from balcony and a sun terrace. Free private parking is available on site. Waiotemarama Falls Lodge is unique. Built by the owner, who is passionate about nature, the house stands in its own grounds and is quite remote. Access is via a gravel road through a beautiful valley. If you are looking to get away from the normal tourist experience this is the place to stay. Tranquil, fabulous night skies, many birds, glow worms in the garden, and back to nature living. We would happily return.

We stayed on the basis of self catering. What we loved about the property was that it exceeded our expectations. The position is wonderful with immediate access to the beach. Whilst there are very few facilities for us in this location (it didn’t matter as that’s why we chose to stay there) there was a hotel where we ate it and the two nights we were there and that was extremely good. There was a local shop where we go to get supplies. On a five week trip to New Zealand, this was one of the highlights!
