It’s a lovely family run place, the hotel is super chill compared to the Main Street that’s a few minutes away. The rooms are clean, especially the washroom and there’s a shared balcony thing where we got to have breakfast and it’s so peaceful in the morning. And they have these adorable cats and free water refill station. And the family that runs it are very welcoming. I would really recommend staying the night here to really enjoy jiufen at night see all the beautiful lanterns glowing without the crowds!

Located in Jiufen, 34 km from Taipei, Sunshine B&B features air-conditioned rooms and free private parking. The views were amazing. The rooms are very spacious and clean. It’s easy to walk to all the touristic areas

晶晶輕旅民宿 is situated in Ruifang, 27 km from Raohe Street Night Market, 27 km from Wufenpu Garment Wholesale Area, and 29 km from Taipei 101. We loved this place and everything about it. The host is lovely—she gave us many recommendations, ensured we knew what trains to take for our outings, gave us small gifts and goodies, offered to help us get laundry washed, and provided flexibility with check in and check out. All this she did with patience and a smile, even though we could not speak Mandarin and had to rely on translation apps. The location is excellent—walking distance to several buses and trains to nearby Jiufen, Shifen Waterfall, Bitoujiao, Keelung, and other great spots. The room itself is quiet, comfortable, and spacious with great lighting. It seems very clean and modern, with nothing out of date and everything functioning perfectly. It is well-appointed and nicely laid out. Guests have access to water, a refrigerator, a tea kettle, coffee, and fast/consistent WiFi. The toiletries and soaps were luxury, and we took note of the shower gel in particular so we can buy it to take home. This place is exceptional value, easy to book and find, and offered us complete privacy and autonomy. The host provided great communication from our initial booking until we said goodbye. Overall we give this hotel our highest recommendation—it was our favorite hotel of the 4 we stayed in on our visit throughout the island. The next time we come to the Taipei area, we will stay here.

Hiljuti renoveeritud kodumajutus A Promised Land BnB asub Jiufenis, 35 km kaugusel Raohe tänava ööturust. Kohapeal on aed ja merevaated. Mäevaatega majutusasutusel on terrass. Host was so so kind. They helped us wash (and fold!) our laundry on our 2 night stay. The breakfast was so good. We also had leftovers from a restaurant and the host kindly helped us to heat it up for dinner the next night, plus gave us some of her cooking to make try. The views from the room was beautiful too.

The property is perfect in every way, it’s like stepping into a completely different world. It creates a vibe that you live in the “spirited away” world. The location is super convenient, I walked to the old street in less than 10 minutes and you get to enjoy the quiet little town all by yourself before the tourists get in in the morning and after tourists leave at night. The host is super helpful when you need anything, you can also book day tours and massage to the room with the host. I’m extremely terrified of bugs, because this is in a forest and I was traveling by myself, that was a concern. But I didn’t encounter anything in my two nights of stay.
