We had an amazing stay at Monkey Thorn Lodge. From the moment we arrived it was really good. The manager and his staff were tops and looked after us really well. There is nothing you could fault. We sat on the veranda at sunset enjoying cocktails followed by a lovely meal. The beds are the best and our suite was very private. My wife loved the gardens and bird watching. We can highly recommend this establishment and will be back next year for longer.

I am stunned with everything! Lovely welcoming staff, excellent house to stay in, delicious food, relaxing environment with all animals, giraffes, zebras, antilopes, birds etc. Nice trials to walk in the properties. If you need to calm down, go here!!

Very private and peaceful, excellent mattress, great outside seating area. The setting in a beautiful garden filled with birds. We stayed here at the end of the Panorama route, but I think it can be a convenient stopover between Johannesburg airport and Kruger. Holger is a wonderful host. Also, don’t miss the excellent breakfast with cheese, cold cuts, eggs as you like and even homemade bread. Highly recommended.

Everything about them is huge: the room, the bed, the bathroom, the outside patio. The chalets have everything you need and there is a servicing and turndown every day. The buck, Zebra and Warthogs frequently visit the area around the chalets, which is really nice. The staff are friendly, and Tanya, the manager, is very hard working and will do her best to make everyone happy. We did have a lovely stay.

The food, breakfast and dinner included, was delicious. They do a potjie on a Friday so we're sad that we missed it. The African sundowner picnic spot is not to be missed. That sunset is like no other.... The chalets have an outdoor shower which was such a nice, refreshing experience in the morning and also completely private.
