Samara Chillout Lodge is a boutique hotel located 10 minutes' walk from Samara Beach in a quiet area. It features an outdoor pool surrounded by a tropical garden. The lodge and gardens were exceptionally designed and rooms were modern, bright and airy but maintained a distinctly Costa Rican feel. Hosts/owners were super-friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them; they organized a number of local tours for us and these, and all their dining recommendations were great! I would not hesitate to stay again or recommend this exceptional place to anyone.

The Good Life Lodge offers 6 modern and comfortable hotel rooms and a 2-story house. Superb welcome! I booked the same morning, they replied very quickly and since the room was available they allowed us to check in at our earliest convenience! Clean location, big room, well furnished. I only wished we booked longer!

Located in San Juanillo and only 1.7 km from Pleito Beach, Chalet San Juanillo provides accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. Very friendly people on site and the accommodation was the most modern I have had so far in Costa Rica. The chalets were immaculate and the pool was great. Having a kitchen was a real bonus. The closest beach is nearly empty most days. The village is a real tico experience - beats any of the tourist traps around.

Featuring sea views, Totobe Resort in Jabilla features accommodation, an outdoor swimming pool, a garden, a shared lounge, a terrace and barbecue facilities. Welcoming and friendly staff who cooked breakfast and dinner as we like it. The secluded location off the beaten track. As we were early in the season, we had the whole resort for ourselves (the staff left during the day and the night, which felt a bit strange during the first night as we wondered whether we were safe).

Offering an outdoor pool, tennis courts and massages services, Guacamaya Lodge is located in Paraíso, 9 minutes’ walk from Junquillal Beach. Free WiFi access is available in this lodge. This was our second time here and for sure not the last time. This place is unique. The Swiss owners make sure it's clean, well organized, well maintained and safe. We had a twin bed bungalow. They are well designed with opposite windows (with mosquito net), no need to switch on the aircondition. The food at the Restaurant is the best at Junquillal beach. Daily wake up call by the howler monkeys. Overall a very calm place. 2 minutes walk to the breathtaking beach. This place is close to paradise with reasonable prizing. Highly recommended.

Surrounded by the jungle and offering a wooden restaurant, palapa roof bungalows and a swimming pool, Mundo Milo Eco Lodge is located 350 metres from Juquillal Beach. Cabañas Cañas Castilla is located on the shores of Sapoa River and 10 minutes’ drive from La Cruz town. It features Orosi Volcano views and one day tours to Nicaragua. The little cabins are really amazing in a really rural area but not too far from the next city. You can see monkeys and sloths in the trees right in front of your cabin. The owners are really nice and marked some hikes starting from the accommodation. The breakfast is really delicious with homemade yoghurt. I would definitely return when I am again in Costa Rica.
