The location is perfect, and the lodging and amenities are clean and well-maintained. Satoshi was an amazing guest and went out of his way to ensure our stay went smoothly, including a personal shuttle from the train station. Skiing is close by within a couple-minute walk, and the ability to rent nice ski gear directly from Belle Vue (for cheaper than the resort!) was a nice touch. We enjoyed the on-site baths at the end of the day to relax after a day on the mountain. We'll be coming back for sure, thanks Satoshi!

Arai Villa Myoko is located in Myoko, 47 km from Zenkoji Temple, 49 km from Nagano Station, as well as 23 km from Lake Nojiri. The accommodation is 46 km from Ryuoo Ski Park, and guests benefit from private parking available on site and free WiFi. The house was spacious and comfortably furnished. The beds were very comfortable with high quality linen. The villa is close to Lotte Arai resort (about 5 minute drive) and the managers of the villa were extremely helpful in arranging transport for our group with a neighbour, who was charming and helpful. The manager also arranged dinner for us at a local restaurant which usually only offers lunch and this was a very special experience for us. The drying room was excellent for our ski gear. From the house are views of the surrounding rice fields and up to the mountains.

There is a shared bathroom with bath in some units, along with free toiletries, a hairdryer and slippers. very friendly staff, very relaxed atmosphere in communal areas, was great with our kids. Cooking on the fire was great fun.

The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. Nathan and Akiko were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay a lot, it was quite close to Tsubame Onsen which we came to visit. The nature was stunning so we could stroll around.

Situated in Myoko, 31 km from Zenkoji Temple and 33 km from Nagano Station, Pension Moomin Papa features accommodation with free WiFi, air conditioning, a garden and a shared lounge. The accommodation has a spa bath. Papa was amazing! He provided transportation to and from the ski resorts (Suginohara and Akakura) was there on time each and every day and took me to town to pick up supplies and food. I felt like part of the family and and Mama is an absolutely amazing cook. There kindness and goodwill exemplifies true Japanese tradition and sincerity! The shuttle bus to Akakura Kanko Resort is located next door. The shuttle bus stop for access to all other area ski resorts is only a 4 minute walk away from Hunter Lodge. The family that runs the hotel and restaurant are the kindest, most helpful people we have ever met. We were constantly greeted by smiles, asked if we needed help, and our kids were even given gifts when we left.

Features an on-site hot spring bath and a spacious shared lounge with a fireplace for guests to relax. It’s a happy place! Geoff and Tania ensured that we were well taken care of throughout the stay! They tried their best to pick us up from the train station even though there was a heavy snowfall on the night we arrived. All staffs were kind and friendly. Others who lived at the lodge were also very nice and sociable. I’m really glad to meet new friends from different parts of the world. Started the day with breakfast prepared by the team, then went snowboarding — ask Geoff to recommend ski areas if you’re unsure! Get into the onsen after a whole day of snow then head out to the village (about 7min walk) for dinner after — similarly, if you’re unsure where to eat, ask! Hang out at the common area to chill, chat, watch a movie, play games with affordable beers etc! Maximise your time here if you can! We were really sad to leave and wanted to stay an extra day.. ): till next time!
