Cottage very large. huge partially outside bathroom. staff very helpful. they organised massage at R12,000 for two hours. R300 tuk tuk from train station or walkable 20 mins to town. delicious dinners delivered. cold beers. laundry brought back the next day. bakery across the road. in all highly recommended. I’d give it a 11/10!!

Unawatuna Backpacker Lodge ตั้งอยู่ห่างจากหาด Unawatuna Beach 400 ม. The wifi worked great, 4 minute walk from the beach. Bed and room were huge and comfortable. Host was caring and helped us secure a ride to the airport!

Impeccable service, from the warm welcome at the entrance to the attentive staff throughout our stay. Every detail was carefully considered, making it a truly unforgettable experience. The room was nice, had a nice comfortable sleep. The attention to cleanliness and comfort exceeded my expectations. Waking up to the sounds of birds was an added luxury you get here with natural surroundings. the unobstructed mountain view from my room was a perfect setting for a relaxing and rejuvenating getaway.

Such a cute accommodation. The cabin is spacious and fully equipped. We loved waking up with the sun on our faces, to relax on the balcony hidden between the leaves and the quietness. The host was very friendly, made a delicious breakfast and even provided a breakfast to go on the day of the check out.

It was characterized by top-notch quality that made us feel as though we were sleeping in a hotel rather than a guest house. Our room and bathroom were all spacious, immaculate, and so pretty, with the bed being exceptionally comfortable, to the point where saying we loved it would be an understatement. I cannot say enough good things about the owner here! When Sam, the owner of this guest house, is away working on a ship for extended periods each year, his friends step in to manage the property in his absence. We were fortunate to meet Sam, who proved to be the most exceptional host throughout our 2 1/2-month trip through Sri Lanka. Sam is incredibly kind and always goes the extra mile to ensure that every aspect of your stay is flawless. The breakfast was truly exceptional. Each morning, we were treated to a diverse spread that included fresh juices that were simply fantastic. He even provided vegan options for me, which I found to be not only delicious but also greatly appreciated. Upon our arrival, I was already struggling with a dry cough, and he prepared an ayurvedic drink to help me feel better - showing his thoughtfulness and care in a way that meant a lot to me, especially because I did not ask for that. Throughout our stay, the owner was incredibly attentive and funny, always ensuring that we were comfortable and happy. We enjoyed engaging in conversations with him about life, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that we will always remember fondly. He even cleaned our room after a few days without any additional charge, providing fresh towels, and allowing us to use his fully equipped kitchen. Additionally, he offered us the use of his scooter for touring around at no cost. And that's not all - he even cooked dinner for us three nights in a row, and let me tell you, it was an absolute delight.

The people running the villa and incredibly friendly and helpful and made our stay so delightful. You can also rent a scooter from them!

Our stay was perfect in this place - from the 1st minute we met the host till the minute we left. We even prolonged our stay. The place is beautiful - design, swimming pool, nature. You really can feel the surrounding nature, but at the same time very safe. The special thing is awesome breakfast served. Many thanks to the host - Nuwan, who really cares about his guests. He spent a lot of time with us, telling interesting things about his country, helping with some shopping & transport. We even made our own spice to take home with us and went to night crabs hunting on the beach !!!

It is a nice location surrounded by the nature. The lodge is managed by a friendly family. Everything is very clean inside. A small kitchen is also provided. We loved to spend time in the room's balcony, looking at buffalos at the paddy fields while having a tea. Had a wonderful time.
