A beautiful house on above a gently flowing river, a short drive from Oakhurst, a town not far from Yosemite National Park (about an hour by car to the Valley). A generous room with the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in, an excellent, well-equipped bathroom, and all in total silence. Really nice view over the river (if the room is available) - it rained/snowed heavily while we were there, and were delighted to enjoy the peace of this room during it.

It’s approximately an hour driving to and from Yosemite valley along the Merced river which is a very pretty drive. It was really nice to get back here and relax after a day of hiking.

Loved the location, kitchen and bathrooms had all the essentials and some lovely extras. I loved the map on the wall where each guest can pin where they come from, a very cute idea. Special thanks also to Theresa and Glen for being such fantastic hosts. They were highly communicative and helpful.

Oh, my word, how to describe this most perfect property. From Oakhurst, you turn right off the main road and wind along what feels like a private side road to get there. We saw California grouse, Stellar jays, a family of wild turkeys, a skunk, deer, fabulous little bats, the list goes on.... The cabin is set on the side of the mountain so the front deck is raised on stilts; you honestly feel like you're living in the tree canopy with the most amazing views across the valley. In the morning the early sun slants through the trees casting long lazy shadows and you feel instant peace; any travel stress just melts away. Incredibly well equipped, we had everything we needed and more and the very friendly host was on hand whenever we needed to answer questions for us. It is a great base to explore Bass Lake (we hired a boat - great fun) and Yosemite National Park. But all our party - 2 parents, two teenagers (19 &16) and a Grandma wished we had booked an extra few days just to stay here. I cannot recommend it highly enough - we have travelled all over the world and this is one of the most special properties we have ever stayed in.
