Excellent hospitality, lovely little boutique hotel in a brilliant location. Food was great, views from the terrace were postcard perfect. I liked that the hotel was a bit away from the busyness of the village which seemed a fair bit crowded.

Hotel Restaurant Alpet Theth, hotel in Theth

Located in Theth and with Theth National Park reachable within 2 km, Hotel Restaurant Alpet Theth provides a tour desk, allergy-free rooms, a restaurant, free WiFi and a bar.

Perfect location with great panoramic view to the valley. In house restaurant is a BIG plus as we found only one open restaurant (in May) nearby but with lower quality. I guess there is now no comparable facility in the village. There was no problem with electricity, wifi or hot water.

Amazing hosts, so friendly and they cooked vegan food for me and my partner specifically, even though the traditional diet is heavy on meat eggs and dairy. The location is perfect, 20 mins to walk into Theth centre. The room had an amazing view, and the property was clean. Perfect stay!

Theth is a beautiful place to visit if you are a nature lover. The nature around Theth is breath taking. The blue eye swim was one of the many things we enjoyed. On our next visit we will do the Valbona trail it looks stunning.

Theth is gorgeous if you don't stay at Vidis Chalet make sure you at least eat dinner there once. Hike the blue eye its absolutely breathtaking. Driving could be very scary the road is very narrow and there are places where two cars just don't fit so one car has to reverse to a wider part of the road.

Stunning views, nice trails for tracking but rather difficult climbs due to small rocks on the trails and hard to climb big rocks even on the way to the Blue Eye and the Waterfall. Do not be fooled: just because you enjoy tracking on well maintained trails and you can walk 20-30 kms in one day, does not mean that you will enjoy the hikes in Theth on rocky, difficult terrain. BUT it is worth the sacrifice because the views are fantastic. Also, forget that Albania is the Balkans, often meant as not well developed. If you have a local guide for your group as we did, he can take you to lovely restaurants and bars that would be beloved spots even in Western Europe. Lovely country, friendly people, not crammed with tourists. Great place to visit before eveyone else discovers it.

Theth was amazing despair the weather wasn’t unsettle which made difficult I to walk about and was a bit risky when I try to climb the steps and so on . You must be fit and be able to walk a lot and for long time . Overall I enjoy the company and the views sunset and all was good . Locals are very friendly and the food fresh and delicious.

The paved road was just competed last year which makes arriving in a rental car possible. The drive up was amazing with hairpin turns and amazing views around each corner. Once arriving to the town, you feel like you have gone back in time to a village where the families are truly connected and everyone works together to help tourist experience the beauty of these amazing mountains. I have traveled the world and was still completely amazed at the beauty in the village and even more at the summit of the hikes. It will become more well known with time and it is a great time to experience it before it becomes more developed. The people in this area suffered under communism and in the past 30 years, since the country has been free, the families are rebuilding their lives and you can feel the excitement of them planning to better their community. HIghly recommend for at least 3 days so you can do a couple of the major hikes. We stayed in Theth and hiked to the summit of the Theth - Valdona pass and back to Theth again to avoid carrying our backpacks over the pass.

Everyone takes the hike over Valbone pass, which has an elevation gain of 1km, but tracks with less elevation are just as beautiful and varied, or even more so in case of the track from Theth to the Blue Eye waterfall. We did that one twice. Find a guest house that makes a hearty breakfast and dinner down in Theth valley, bring a straw hat against the sun, plan your hikes between 8 and 18 to return before it gets dark and cold and leave a few hours for picnics, photos and gawking at the views - it's not a race!
