Born of an ancient civilisation, Cairo is a vast metropolis centred around the Nile. Its sheer scale can feel overwhelming (especially when flying over it into Cairo Airport), so plan ahead. An obvious starting point are the Giza Pyramids. Although the pharaohs are long gone, the grandeur of their burial pyramids, the Sphinx and Solar Boat are testament to their ambition.
The city’s Egyptian Museum houses a dazzling display of ancient Egyptian artefacts, including finds from Tutankhamun’s tomb in Luxor. Around the corner is Tahrir, a huge square and focal point of the 2011 Egyptian Revolution.
East is Islamic Cairo, home to 9th-century Ibn Tulun Mosque, Al-Azhar Mosque (site of the world’s oldest university), and the Khan el-Khalili souk – remember to haggle. The Citadel, with its elegant Mohammed Ali Pasha Mosque, sits on a hill offering far-reaching city views.
If you want to step out of cultural tours, take a Nile cruise by felucca, spot wildlife in Wadi Digla desert park or visit Egypt’s top theme parks: Dream Park and Magic Land, where you can tour Egyptian TV studios.
Before heading to your Cairo accommodation, sample the local cuisine – the falafel and fuul (bean paste) are delicious. Turkish coffee is a staple and there are hundreds of shisha bars, while major Cairo hotels have bars serving alcohol.

The history and the sights are unbelievable.
The history and the sights are unbelievable. But I have traveled to over 40 countries and Cairo was definitely the most stressful place I have ever been. You have to be alert always with the different scams that are all around. Also the driving and walking is extremely dangerous. I never felt danger from the people, but great danger from getting hit by cars, trucks, motorcycles , tuk tuks.

it is one of the most fascinating cities on earth.
I have always felt safe. Love the shopping, cafés, restaurants and the great bakeries.
Don't be discouraged by the madness, dive in and become part of it.

Cairo is a busy, crowded, dirty/trashy city.
Cairo is a busy, crowded, dirty/trashy city. There are many very rude, aggressive, dangerous, oblivious drivers. The basic rules of driving are not recognized, there is little/none driver courtesy. There is no yielding to pedestrians, be very careful if you have to enter the street and always look both ways regardless of the designated direction for traffic. The street tempo of Cairo is hectic at the very least. The air is terribly polluted and generally unhealthy to breath. There are many nice, friendly and considerate Egyptian people, but they are often over shadowed by the mindless drivers. There are some modern shopping malls, however they mostly have the same stores. Many of the stores offering imported products are leaving or have already left Egypt. Depending on your agenda Cairo has several distinct areas, if you can afford a $250-$500 a night hotel you would be comfortable in any of these areas, it is safe in all but a few places. You should consider what you want to do in Cairo and arrange your hotel accordingly, the less you travel Cairo by auto the better you will like it. My favorite area in Cairo is Katamaya/West Golf, in this exclusive compound you can walk the streets day or night, go golfing on a championship course, have fine dining and completely forget you are even in Cairo.

Cairo is an amazing city of activity, culture and nightlife.
Cairo is an amazing city of activity, culture and nightlife.
The people are warm, welcoming and always ready to help.
People say hi just to say hi, and they help without a secondary agenda. (sometimes they expect payment but not obliged to unless specified by your guide/hotels)
The city is bustling with activity and you always feel safe.
I think what travellers need to remember is that it is still a 3rd world country and many things are not like what you might be used to. Eg, cleanliness of bathrooms/places in general, everyone speaking good English (though it was pretty impressive), public transport availability and accessibility.
Things to take note:
1. Use UBER, even at the airport. The pick up station is at the carpark and you will see this instruction when you log onto the app and request for a pickup.
2. Carry some amount of cash > as I said this city is still developing so some places don't take cards and the machines might not always work (We were at the Marriott Garden and it didn't work)
3. It's very dusty (you're in a desert!) so wise to take wet wipes to help clean places and also yourself.
4. Bring a bottle of water > it is the desert as i said and also you might need it to clean your hands/face.
5. Whilst it is still a tourist place, for women i would suggest to dress not too provocatively. Respect the area you're in.
The hotel was very clean and the staff were so helpful! The owner helped us in every way possible, from help with booking a bus to another part of Egypt to arranging an Egyptian breakfast for us in the hotel and we also spoke about Egyptian customs. You can arrange for the hotel’s driver to pick you up from the airport for cheap. The cleaning lady wouldn’t even let us wash the dishes in the common area after we ate.
The hotel has a kitchen and also washing machine, and it’s close to the airport. Would definitely recommend!
The best part was the fantastic 5 star level service everyone here gives. Also, The view from the roof top of the pyramids in incredible! We also had a very good view of them from. Our balcony which was cool. Also the location is very convenient for getting to the pyramids. A lot of things going on around the hotel. The room was cleaned very well each day we were there. The mattress and pillows were extremely comfy ! I highly recommend.
The place is a really good budget accomodation. Location is great if you are visiting the pyramids and the area is very quiet and surrounded by family houses which gives you a good taste of everyday life in Egypt. Flat is big and you have all you need for a comfy stay. The owner, Mahmoud, worth a mention as one of the best hotel owners I've ever meet. He is always happy to help and able to get all you need for a great stay in Egypt.
The hotel is located in downtown Cairo, amazing location and close by to most tourist attractions. the staffs are polite, the guest relations manager Nevine was an absolute delight, she made sure our stay was comfortable. Our first room had some problems so she upgraded us to a better room. The hotel has many restuarants and its own shopping complex, pool, jacuzzi, sauna, spa….overall one of the best 5 stars.
This hotel is run by the most respectful and helpful staff I have ever met Mohamed and others went above and beyond and wanted to make us feel comfortable. The rooftop is an attraction for viewing the pyramids. They serve delicious fresh juices. I recommend all the fresh juices. Best of all is grilled food. Mohamed offers the most beautiful excursions inside Egypt. Upon arrival it is possible
The first time I visited Egypt and I was very lucky (this hotel is clean and the service is amazing and the people who work there are always trying to help. I did tourist tours in Giza and Alexandria and they were amazing at a very good price. Many thanks to Mr. Khudari who arranged everything for us and who is one of the best people we know In Egypt, many people thanked him for everything
One of the standout features of Pyramids Legend Inn is its convenient transportation services. Moemen arranged cheap transfers for us to explore the entirety of Egypt, from the bustling streets of Cairo to the serene beauty of the Black and White Deserts. Additionally, the small touches like finding tea, coffee, and water in our room added to the overall welcoming atmosphere of the hotel .
It is close to the airport and I took it as I only went to the hotel to just sleep some hours. The receptionist were the best ones I met in Egypt. I asked to get a taxi early in the morning and this was the only hotel from all I visited in Egypt that told me the real price I had to pay (maximum 80 egyptian pounds), and only for it they deserve the best comment from my part. Thanks a lot.
Excellent location, right in the middle of downtown Cairo. Close to the metro, many restaurants and Egyptian Museum. But the best part is the staff, the guys at the reception were so friendly and helpful. We were collected from the airport straight to the hotel and there were no issues at all. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was also OK.
This is our best hotel in Egypt, everything is new and clean and the service is extraordinary. The manager makes you feel like family from the very first moment. The view from the terrace is magical and it's a 1min walk to the entrance of the pyramids. I recommend this hotel to everyone.
Airport transfer at a very reasonable price.
Definitely the best part of this hotel is the staff. The manager is a wonderful guy who will help you to have a pleasant time in Egypt. My suggestion is to not book any tour before arriving Egypt. Wait until arriving to Miami hotel and book everything with the manager of the hotel. Trust me, you will save a lot of money.
Amazing room, amazing location, amazing staff
Osama was very good and very friendly.. we stayed for like 2 nights but .. we had a best hotel in town.. i will recommend everyone to try out this property..
Hotel manager was very helpful , he came to receive us on airport.. which we really liked...
It is the best hotel I have ever visited in terms of the cleanliness and arrangement of the rooms, the speed of response, the cooperation of the staff, and the breakfast is excellent. There are many restaurants and services around it. I recommend it to my friends and I will repeat my visit.
I loved everything about the hotel. Our flight arrived pretty late (around 1:30am) and there were a lot of people at front desk ready to help. Breakfast truly blew my mind off, best meal we had in Cairo for sure and quite cheap for $15 per person. Room was comfortable and location perfect
This hotel has the best view of the Pyramids & the price it’s very cheap for the location that it has. The rooms are clean and beds are very nice. Also the staff it’s very good.
They also offered airport pick-up which it was very cheap.
I fully suggest it this hotel 😊😊
Top location, just 10 minutes walking from the Egyptian museum; stores and restaurants very close to the hotel. The staff was extremely helpful, friendly and kind. The room was very nice, spacious and clean. Free wifi. Great breakfast. Best value for money
Very badic, clean with all the amenities you find in a 4 star hotel. Nice and quiet area. Stores and restaurants are within walking distance. Very close to the airport. On par with any 4 star hotel, yet very simple. Price you can't beat.
The staff is very kind and helpful. I am a U.S. female solo traveler who travels frequently to Egypt. I highly recommend this hotel. This hotel is also very clean, updated, and conveniently located close to the airport and shopping.
I am used to this hotel and have been a regular client as guest and visitor to the facilities either the restaurants or the spa
It is still maybe the best in cairo in terms of decency and cleanliness
