The Old School B&B, hotel in Tebay

Ideally located between the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the Lake District, The Old School is a bed and breakfast located in the idyllic surroundings of the Eden Valley.

Breakfast was freshly cooked and contained the options I selected. This included the provision of hot water for my own supplied herbal tea. Sustainable approach to butter & marmalade instead of small wraps

Cumbrian cottage, sleeps 6, in convenient location, hotel in Tebay

Housed in a historic building, the recently renovated Cumbrian cottage, sleeps 6, in convenient location features accommodation with a garden and free WiFi.

It was perfect for what we wanted to do. It was just off M6 with all access to Windermere, Scotland and Keswick. Not many grocery stores or eateries to choose from in Tebay, so make sure you pick something up. Quaint little village. The host provided a little basket of breakfast items to start us off- very kind

A perfect spot to enjoy the Lakes whilst only minutes from the M6. Quiet location and I had views into the countryside. Lovely fresh breakfast and perfect leaf tea. The hosts couldn’t have been better and went out of their way to help me.

I travel up and down the M6 to/from Hereford to Oban fairly regularly. It’s a long an arduous journey particularly in the winter. Westmorland is a godsend of a hotel almost exactly half way and is an oasis of comfort and warmth literally at the side of the motorway. I love the convenience, the comfort, the friendliness and the fact you feel you are on the moors and a million miles from a motorway. You could not wish for a better night stop to recharge your batteries. Be sure to ask about the secret road between north and south services especially for hotel customers- so you can easily access the hotel when travelling south (because hotel is on M6 North)

Tebay services…. what a fabulous cocooning experience!

Tebay services…. what a fabulous cocooning experience! I came off the M6 on a wild wet dark evening and stepped into simple luxury and contemporary cosiness - I left the next morning early, completely restored. I was journeying from the borders of scotland to the south coast and realised I’d run out of energy for the drive- an unplanned stop- but having experienced sitting by the open fire with my book after a delicious simple supper, slept in a divine comfortable bed, a nice hot bath -a delicious breakfast - i’ll make the time to stop here EVERY time i pass from now - special thanks for the gluten free and vegan options tebay!

There was a well stocked farm shop within walking distance, a great pub which was reasonably priced with a good menu. The food was delicious, it had an outdoor beer garden and lit up seating area, a play park for the kids, it played great music and had a good atmosphere, everyone was so friendly. Tebay has many local walks, it is in the perfect location, in between the Lakes and Yorkshire Dales.

I booked the single room as was only there alone for one night stopover and wasn't sure how I'd sleep in a single bed. But it was extremely comfortable and homely, a nice temperature and quiet in the room. I had a great night's sleep which was all I was bothered about really. Owner kindly made my breakfast to go as I left early on. Friendly owners. B&B is easy to find right in front of you as you come into Tebay.

Lovely hotel, staff very friendly and attentive in the hotel more than I can say for the farm shop staff who were unhelpful and chatting amongst themselves! Room was spacious and clean. The bed was big and comfy we had a great sleep. Shower was amazing. Perfect stay, can't comment on the food as was just an overnight stop.

Our third stay, perfectly located with easy parking and MWay access en route to Scotland. We take three rooms, have a fabulous dinner in the locally supplied restaurant, indulge in a full breakfast and use our discount voucher to stock up at the farm shop. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and we will be back.

Very convenient location for a one night stop heading north/south. Great for dogs as lovely walks straight from hotel without needing to use car again. Also benefits from being close to the motorway (but not noisy) with all the facilities at (in my opinion) the best UK service station. Comfortable bed and nice linen.
