Marari Green Villas, hotel in Mararikulam

Set in Mararikulam, 700 metres from Marari Beach, Marari Green Villas offers accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a shared lounge.

It was very thoughtful of Anandhu to contact me through whatsapp, then ask when I would be arriving, providing travel directions, and even locations of restaurants to eat at. Anandhu and his mother are so kind, helpful and friendly with check in and ensuring that I would be comfortable with my stay, the rooms are large and comfortable, I liked the seated area outside of my cabin looking towards the pool, the breakfast was amazing, so much food for me. Great WiFi, They offer push bikes, which was great as you really cant get around unless you have wheels, as everything is very far away.

We were a family of 9 - 6 adults and 3 children and took over the whole house. Biju and his wife could not have been more helpful. Was a wonderful, unforgettable experience. We enjoyed being a couple of minutes from the beach (waves were quite big) and the grandkids enjoyed playing football there with the local kids. There was also a lagoon to splash around in. Biju arranged a boat trip on the backwaters and went to the market with us to choose some local fish which his cook then prepared for us. We all enjoyed feeling part of the local village life. Can recommend without hesitation.

Home away from home, that was the feeling! The lady owner was so lovely and kind - a real gift! The room was very spacious giving on to a common terrace (shared by the adjacent rented room and the owners) and a lovely garden just few steps away from the beach. Being a solo woman traveller, I felt very safe.

Very small sleepy village perfect for a remote escape. Unspoiled beach and nature with friendly inhabitants. A total escape. It is not a tourist spot but a quiet escape. The remoteness means little amenities like restaurants and shops. Come prepared with some snacks and supplies. A large resort hotel and some smaller ones, along with homestay, but little else for the independent traveller

Great area - a little away from the hustle & bustle of other areas so it is quieter. The beach is beautiful, clean & quiet. Easy to get transport to other areas for more activity - close to backwater tours etc. Only limitation is perhaps lack of eating out options within walking area, best to have hotel with restaurant otherwise will need to travel by tuk tuk or taxi.

The resort was a little too far away from the beach and the beach had no chairs, shade or umbrellas making it very difficult to stay very long. The surrounding area was not good to stroll around. The massage treatments are a 10 minute tuk tuk ride away and are quite expensive for India £34. We have been paying £15 previously.

I was at much trouble due to the stay at Mararikulam due to booking at Spot On Sb Cruise, Aleppey (There is no such property). So I was to search for another property with the help of some Good Local peoples and by their efforts, I got a place to sleep.

I like very much all areas of Mararikulam, I think it is cleaner than other places. The beach is amazing and magical, people are very kind. it is a paradise on earth, unfortunately, my resort needs some restoration, especially rooms, and the swimming pool. Nature is really enchanting I was in Seclude Marari sand resort, potentially the best part of the beach but the resort needs some work. It is quite expensive for the services it offers

The room was large, clean, with storage cupboards and drawers, located in a very quiet location, away from the main road and a short walk to a beautiful and empty beach. Get to the beach early in the morning and you can buy fresh fish from local fishermen. Mary was very friendly and welcoming. In addition to the inclusive breakfast, the dinner we requested one night was excellent and plentiful. Communication with Joseph from booking to checkout was smooth and helpful. Really enjoyed our stay at Marari Lois Homestay.

If you look for a place where you can find peace and tranquility in a beautifully restored house and a lucious garden, Marari Beach Bungalow is the place to go. The staff is wonderful, attentive and the smiles are genuine and heartwarming. The landlord and landlady have been more than helpful to organise trips for us and were always responsive, whenever we had a question. We enjoyed our 8 day stay and the house, the food and the feeling of being welcomed again every single day. Thank you for a wonderful time.

Complimentary breakfast was added on arrival and it was on par with all other hotels we stayed. The location is excellent if you want to spend time at the beach /pool. Not much going around outside though. The water was a bit rough for me as I'm not a confident swimmer but the pool was very clean and warm. The food at the restaurant (non buffet as we didn't try that) was very good and reasonably priced. Although furniture etc is very dated it was clean and spacious.

Bincy, the owner, was delightful. Her family are fishermen and all very friendly. They were about to open a restaurant but you can ask for an evening meal. Breakfast was okay. The homestay is only a minute's walk from Marari beach. Simple and basic stay for very little money. You can't access the property by car. It's a short walk on the sand but Bincy kindly offered to carry our bags, We managed them ourselves. All the local people were very friendly and helpful.

We absolutely loved everything about our stay. The homestay was in a peaceful setting surrounded by nature. The room was very clean and comfortable, we slept so well. We had a delicious home cooked traditional Keralan breakfast and an amazing dinner, some of the best food we have had in India. What made our stay extra special was the beautiful happy family running the home stay. We were made to feel so welcome and had so much fun with them. Thank you for our stay.

Stayed at jo’s place for 2 nights. We loved it here, could have stayed longer. It’s practically on the beach so a very short walk to Marari beach which was clean and quiet. The rooms were big and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was really good, tasty! Jo was very kind and helpful, he arranged our day trips (alleppey backwaters, which was beautiful) and helped us to our next destination! Lovely cafe/restaurant near by.

The people living there were more than friendly and the food they offered was delicious. Mararikulam is a small and calm place and the location of the house was perfect, just 5 min. walking distance from the beach. I'd definitely stay here again.
