Beautiful place to stay - we were in a Chalet and it was cozy, comfortable and warm. The grounds are beautifully maintained and the colourful trees in Autumn are stunning! The river is right in front of the property and you can do the Tongariro River track straight from the lodge (although a little signposting would be helpful as we got a bit confused trying to find it). The staff were so sunny and helpful - a real pleasure to deal with. They cooked us a wonderful breakfast which we ate in front of the fireplace :) Would come back to stay here in a heartbeat!

I stayed here to visit the Tongariro National Park. The accommodation is ideal for meeting like-minded travelers and cook and dine together. Sandra was an outstanding host that provided us not only with the "puppy tax" but also had a lot of tips for the area.

Loved the location, nestled in the tress next to a wonderful walking path by the river, away from the noise of the busy highway. The roomy cottage was clean and comfortable. Appreciated the (seemingly brand new) full fridge!
