traffic,, always a pain,, but great beaches a 20 minute taxi ride away, plenty of culture and history to explore, once you get over the desire to relax in your air conditioned room.
Ayala mall has nearly all of your dietry addictions, and never to busy at all times. the resturant @ tops of cebu, was for me the biggest dissapointment, great views but sadly mediocre food.

The hotel had one of their staff drive me around the city. The driver wasn't familiar with the sites we visited. The hotel collected the fee but never called a tour operator. I thought I was going to get a licensed and knowledgeable guide from a tour company., but that wasn't the case. The hotel lied and provided substandard service.

It's easy to get around the city with public transport (buses, jeepneys, taxis). One thing that disappointed us was about the beaches in Mactan/Lapu-Lapu area. We saw online that there were nice blue water/white sand beaches and resorts but they have all been privatized! By hotels and resorts. You have to pay to use their beach fronts. The costs range from Php400-4,000! Some of these costs also include using the hotel's swimming pool or eating from their buffet. But still...we just wanted to spend one or two hours by the beach but didn't know we had to pay like this. We found two public beaches for free access (eg. Maribago) but they were dirty :(

Cebu is fine. DO NOT THE CROWN HOTEL.
Booking.com clam this is a 4* hotel it’s not.!!
I check in at 9pm to be told that had no record of
My booking. When I show them the booking confirmation. Not good enough for them. Had to hand over more money. When asked about rooms service not available .! Asked if they had a bar. Not available.!! How can this hotel be a 4*
If they do not offer these basic services??
Poor hotel again from Booking. Com
We arrived quite late to Harold's and were checked in quickly and efficiently. Up to our room on the tenth floor. Great room. Great bathroom and a spectacular view. We went up to the rooftop bar/resto and had a couple of drinks to unwind, gatecrashing a party in the nicest possible way. Back down to the room with its gigantic bed and a great nights sleep. We stayed and explored Cebu City for a couple of days, and only did about 25% of what we'd planned, as we lazed around in our room for quite some time.
As a 3-star hotel, The Maxwell Hotel met my expectations with its comfortable accommodations and excellent service. The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-appointed, providing a relaxing environment after a day of exploring Cebu City. The hotel staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring that all my needs were met throughout my stay. Overall, I had a pleasant experience at The Maxwell Hotel and would recommend it to fellow travellers looking for a comfortable and affordable stay in Cebu City.
Full apartment has everything you need. Washing machine, soap and shampoo dispensers, 7 eleven right next door, Netflix, couch for lounging, comfy bed and comforter. Stove, microwave, fridge. Beautiful view of the city from the balcony. I felt right at home. Clean! Host was attentive on WhatsApp and there to meet me upon check-in. Next visit to Cebu city I’ll definitely look to book here again!
What I like about this hotel:
* Staff were warm and friendly.
*Very comfy bed and the sheets were clean.
*Room is spacious and other amenities were very good.
*Location is perfect if you want to explore cebu city.
OVERALL: Very recommendable and i would love to stay again.
Very cost friendly for comfort and central location to get all those errands needing to be done in Cebu City. Also we stayed there because of a vigil at St. Peters so very closeby for hiya. Breakfast was simple affordable and good. Shower was hot.
the best place to stay in Cebu city. I stayed at this hotel for 10 nights and the staff have always been friendly and attentive. I have never lacked anything. I highly recommend this place
Great choice for breakfast buffet (local and international) and very friendly and helpful hotel staff.
Plus, the pool at the rooftop has an amazing view of the city.
The staff is super friendly and helpful. The rooms are also beautifully decorated. We loved the pool and the hotel is located in an ideal part of Cebu city.
