Excellent location, very convenient and fabulous for a cocktail or wine on the rooftop. Breakfast was also enjoyable with a lovely selection and Tiago definitely deserves 5 stars for his friendly professional service. However, the set dinner menu was a disgrace on the first night, we had read all the past reviews before our arrival and we were extremely disappointed with the standard of food presented for the price. Also, the rooms had open wardrobes (basically a rail) and the walls were paper thin.
Decorated with oil paintings and tiled floors, Hospedaria Frangaria offers pleasant accommodation with free Wi-Fi. It includes a popular street-level restaurant and free parking.

Faro is the picturesque capital of the Algarve region, offering colourful streets and buildings, Moorish influence, and typical Portuguese charm. It is encompassed by the lagoon of Ria Formosa Natural Park, and offers wide beaches, a laid-back atmosphere, and a vibrant nightlife.
Occupied by Phoenicians and Carthaginians, and once an important Roman harbour and Moorish culture capital, it was almost flattened by the 1755 earthquake. Happily, the historic centre survived and is today one of best preserved in Algarve. Choosing a hotel in Faro’s Old Town will allow you to have a more authentic Portuguese experience.
The long, sandy beach of Praia de Faro is 7 km from the city, and the beach on Barreta Island –also known as Deserta - is probably the most tranquil in the region. Hotels near the beach in Faro and the surrounding towns of Olhão, Tavira, Quinta do Lago, Quarteira and Vilamoura, are all excellent ways to enjoy sunny Portugal.
Faro International Airport offers connections throughout Europe, and the city also offers ferry, railway, and bus links. Whether you need a beach resort or a hotel near Faro Airport, check out the wide offer available on Booking.com!

A working, everyday town with some interesting buildings, modest tourist offering, friendly people and good transport facilities. Felt safe at night on every visit (even the ever-present drug sellers were polite!) Worth a nose if you're passing through.

Loved Faro for it’s warm and friendly people, great weather, fabulous food, fine shops and charming neighbouring towns easily accessed by train. We were particularly taken by Taveira which is a must visit. We would return to the Faro area again and again

Beautiful sleepy little historical fishing town.
Beautiful sleepy little historical fishing town. Excellent for a quiet few days in the warm sun, wandering around its quaint narrow streets, enjoying shops, cafes and restaurants. Great beaches all nearby. Also less than half an hours' bus ride to the largest shopping centre/outlet village in the south of Portugal (Mar Shopping Centre), so there's something for everyone.

It's a lived-in, working city and doesn't pretend to put tourists at the forefront. However, tourists are well-catered for and I've spent a few happy days wandering the town on several occasions. Just wear sturdy shoes and have a little torch handy as the pavements/kerbs are no fun!

Lovely parts of this city near Marina, and while there seems to be lots of regeneration the city is quite run down in parts and a huge amount of graffiti. Lovely shopping streets and cafes, and a trip to both the Mar and Forum Algarve shopping centres a great way to spend a few hours. Nice restaurants in marina area and small parks. Well worth a visit but two days here is plenty.

Great for just strolling - some of the back streets are magical. People very friendly and very proud of their city. Take the ferry to Cacilhas and try one of the fish restaurants in the main village there. Go to tourist information and you may want to go further.
In Faro we ate at 8 Tapas, the Tavern, and Velha Casa - just what we wanted with delightful staff. Octopus at the Tavern with two crazy waiters was superb.
We like the variety of breakfast and the size of the room is spacious. We like the King suite with a hot tub in the balcony overlooking Ria Formosa. There was also a welcome drink to choose from. We had a glass of wine and rose. The receptionist/ barmaid/ waitress/ chef was very friendly. The location is quiet and only 5 mins drive to Faro airport which is handy on our last day in Portugal. The whole place was very clean and modern in decor.
The property looks very new. It’s a walking distance to everything. The room is very comfortable and has everything for a short or extended stay. The Wifi is the fastest in all the hotels I have stayed, which is very important for us who work remotely on the trip. We cooked and used the laundry. Communication with the owner was very easy and prompt. I would stay here again and would recommend it to anyone who would stay in Faro.
Amazing location right in the historic center of Faro, just a short walk away from all the main sights, great restaurants, bars and shopping. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom was larger than most bathrooms I've seen in Portugal, with nice toiletries provided.
We were sent the check-in info via Whatsapp since there's no reception because of COVID, but the instructions were detailed and easy to follow.
The hostel is a 20-minute walk from the airport, and its planes are rarely heard. The hostel garden offers tables, chairs and a washing line, and is a good sun trap. 3 bus lines to the city lie 15 minutes away (cost 2E85). The suburb of Montenegro, 15 minutes away, offers cafes, pubs with food, a restaurant and a supermarket, - a slice of suburban Portugal, with low prices. It is pleasantly relaxed.
The hotel is right in the city centre. Very close to the bus terminal (3 min walk) so getting too and from the airport was very simple.
The staff were really friendly. The room was larger than I was expecting and the bathroom was really big too. Everything was neat, tidy and clean and I would have no issue recommending the hotel as a place to stay if you are travelling to Faro.
Amazing hotel in the island. Staff especially Alex were fantastic, very helpful & knowledgeable.
Hotel is right on the beach so an amazing location.
Rooftop has a hot tub & bar.
The burger I had was incredible.
Great selection for breakfast.
Bus on the bridge takes you into faro or take the taxi boat
The location was perfect, literally a stone throw away from one of the best beaches in Portugal, and so close to Faro airport.
The host was amazing, Marcos gave us all the local knowledge and recommended the best places to go, and also stocked up the apartment kitchen with all the basics needed.
Faro isn’t the biggest of places but this hotel is perfectly located and includes a free shuttle to their beach club. All staff are very helpful and friendly, rooms are spacious & comfortable. A very varied breakfast is served on the top floor restaurant with views across the lagoon .
The reception area is very nice to walk into. The location is right on the marina and a short walk to everything. The bedding was very fresh and comfortable. The breakfast selection is big and plentiful. A comfortable night before we left Portugal from Faro Airport.
I liked everything I saw!
I needed to close to the Airport!
It was just perfect, very clean line location !
Awesome costumer service! They above and beyond to costumers in whatever needed!.
I recommend to everyone who a good hotel in Faro.
Our first taste of Portugal. The walk up the hill to the hostel was further than I expected but we made it with our heavy packs.
The staff were very helpful when I needed to ring the airport
The breakfast was pretty good & great to have
Right on the beach. Nice and clean. My room had a mini fridge. Reception guy was very nice & thorough. He was not aware that to rooftop jacuzzi and bar were “closed for cleaning” until we got up there. My stay was in late October.
Great hotel for a late night arrival faro airport. Within walking distance from the airport too. Reception staff very friendly. Rooms were modern and very clean. Would definitely recommended.
Everything!
Beautiful stylish hotel in the centre of Faro. 5 star luxury with exceptional attention to detail. Rooftop pool a great place to relax and chilled out music just adds to ambiance.
