The breakfast was amazing. Staff was wonderful at keeping stations filled, and it was very busy at one point due to spring break holiday. Very impressive. My kids also loved the indoor pool and hot tub.
The Hampton Inn Alpine, easily reached on Highway 90 in west Texas, has an indoor pool, whirlpool and a fitness center for guest to use, along with flat-screen TVs in all rooms.

The hotel was exactly what I expected. The breakfast was nice enough - you could make your own waffles, other hot food items, etc. Quiet hotel. Didn't get a chance to try out the pool.

Touristy small town with a lot of varied personalities.
Touristy small town with a lot of varied personalities. It's a gateway to Big Bend Natl Park. I guess there's a lot of festivals of various types throughout the year there that would be fun. Not far from the mountains I didn't know were in W. Texas. I will go back to the area seeing as how I want to explore Big Bend, don't know if I'd choose Alpine as a destination, I'd try other locations.

Quaint West Texas motel within driving distance to Big Bend and Maria. Good restaurants and cute little town for shopping. Murals were beautiful. Town is largely closed Mon-Tues-Wed so visit on other days if you want to shop.

We expected Alpine to be like many small West Texas towns:...
We expected Alpine to be like many small West Texas towns: slowly and sadly dying. But to our pleasant surprise, Alpine was a vibrant little town nestled in a pretty desert valley. It even has a "Rush Hour", as we jokingly called it, when one of the mile-long trains creeps through the middle of town in the morning and evening and stops traffic.

The big attraction of Alpine is (relatively) nearby Big Bend...
The big attraction of Alpine is (relatively) nearby Big Bend National Park. Alpine itself, however, is quite interesting - some good restaurants, a university, the Museum of the Big Bend, and Marfa close by. We ate at the Holland House Hotel (good food and cocktails) and Giuzzi Pizza (a good salad and a good pizza). This is a fascinating part of the United States that attracts a lot of European visitors because of its ruggedness and Far West feel. I highly recommend it.

Between Fort Davis, Terlingua and Marfa, Alpine had much more going on when we visited on Saturday and Sunday after Thanksgiving. The Holland Hotel was as delightful as the photos and was a splendid choice for the last stay location for our trip. The restaurant was open for dinner (the prime rib dinner was excellent) and the Century Bartender was a delight as well.

This trip was so much fun!!
This trip was so much fun!! We went to the McDonalds Observatory, Fort Davis and toured the fort. Marfa and viewed the Marfa lights, simply amazing. Hike at Fort Davis State Park. Relaxed and enjoy the local food establishments. We will be back. One word of advice is to Be sure and make reservation at the State Parks.
Convenient location
Friendly staff
Comfortable beds and clean rooms.
Good shower with proper water stream and hot water.
Overall a very nice hotel however when booked opted for tte incl of continental breakfast. But the breakfast turned out to be not what I expected. A complimentary coffee and two small Danish pastries.
According to the hotel staff just recently two weeks ago changed their breakfast policy. However their website even still stated that a continental breakfast would be provided.
Breakfast was grab and go - it was definitely the best I have experienced during the pandemic. I like to have protein with breakfast and they had breakfast sandwiches with egg, sausage and cheese you could heat in the microwave. They kept everything stocked and all items were fresh.
The manager, Jana Sanchez was great when we wanted to add nights and stay in the same room. The hotel was almost full and it was wonderful how she worked with us!
EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT at this hotel! I was amazed at how clean and large my room was! I was impressed with the microwave and small refrigerator that I did not know would be in there. I also was super happy that there were Dove products for free use in the bathrooms. The hallway smelled clean and the breakfast was amazing with lots of perfect choices for all! Thank you for the friendly staff and hard workers that made my 3 night stay enjoyable!
very nice and clean hotel. As usually in the US missed veggies a bit for breakfast, but still it was tasty and good. Quite place, though it stands on the road. Easy to find. Indoor pool and SPA, which is so great to have after a day of trails and exploring Big Band NP. Nice mountain view from the back of the hotel, nice outdoor lounge zone. Definitely would come back to stay in this hotel again
Convenient to town. Cute, comfortable property. Shaded parking. Cute yard/porch for watching sunrise. Friendly host (easy interactions via text). No problems with Wifi, TV, appliances, etc. Reasonable distance to BBNP, but we ended up liking Alpine too more than we expected.
The hotel has a lot of potential. It has a great lobby and historic feel when you first come in. Location is great, although the trains can be loud. The rooms are alright, but could be updated a little.
Convenient to central Alpine: Short walk to Bread and Breakfast, Holland Hotel, Reata Restaurant, AMTRAK station.
Short drive to event venue at Alpine City Hall.
Free WiFi.
Price was right.
The hotel was exactly what I expected. The breakfast was nice enough - you could make your own waffles, other hot food items, etc. Quiet hotel. Didn't get a chance to try out the pool.
Other hotels in Alpine charge two or three times as much for slightly better room. The Value Lodge is clean, comfortable and handy. Shhhh... Let’s keep it a secret.
Hotel is Ok, a bit old and pretty basic. Rooms are quite big and comfy and quiet. Diner was not actually open which was a bit disappointing. staff is friendly.
