The Acacia is a lovely hotel. In addition to the large comfortable rooms with modern bathrooms, the staff is wonderful. I cannot say enough about the level of professionalism, kindness and hospitality provided. One of the staff members even accompanied us to the medical clinic. Breakfast was also a treat. Location is just off the main square. Very easy walk to everything.

We had an excellent breakfast pack from them on our early morning excursion. Well presented and packed for us to eat as we got hungry on the boat trip. All were wrapped in eco-friendly packaging. 10/10
We were super happy with how they explained their commitment to being responsible towards nature and what they do to be actively involved. The info in the rooms was presented subtly, although not overwhelmingly. The free shopping bags and water bottles were a nice touch.

Puerto Ayora is a place where you can enjoy the nature and have the facilities of touristic places like different restaurants, bars, etc. Unfortunately, because of those facilities the fauna has gone to other islands like San Cristobal so that is a downside, but if you go with family it is a great place to get a screenshot of what Galapagos is.

A small but beautiful city.
A small but beautiful city. It was a fishing village but has been transformed to a tourist town. The main street -- Ave. Charles Darwin, is full of life, literally -- sea lions, iguanas, pelicans, etc. It's an adventure like no other.

It's a nice, friendly town.
It's a nice, friendly town. It's got plenty of ATMS, several grocery stores, and a lovely oceanfront walk. The fish market is a must see in the morning. There are sea lions who hang around waiting for scraps. I also saw iguanas and pelicans waiting for handouts. There's very nice bars, restaurants, and market stalls. It's a little spendy, because you're on an island. There's things you can do for free, on your own. There's also TONS of tour companies running day trips to all the nearby islands. You can walk most anywhere, and there are cheap taxis as well.

The touristy part and the harbor to the Darwin research...
The touristy part and the harbor to the Darwin research center was full of shops, restaurants both cheap and expensive, street food, and travel agencies. People are friendly and it’s clean and safe.
Los Kiosko is an intense street where people are coming at you with menus trying to get you come to them - at the same time. But they have specials for $5 lunch or dinner plus a regular menu with cheap meals too. Great Ecuadorian food! We ate ice cream everyday! There was a little froyo place on Baltra and a gelato place down the same street closer to the harbor that was excellent. We found pan de yucca at a street food vendor that was magical, though not always open.
Sea lions are everywhere near the water (not in the same capacity as San Cristobal but still).
You can watch blue footed boobies diving into the water all the time and the frigits are out in mass as well!
Everyone is happy.
Also we found our favorite travel agency with the Galapagos Living Travel Agency. They were fair priced and hilarious. Lots of laughs and planning of epic next day adventures.
Neliza was absolutely amazing. She washed my clothes for me without being asked on more than one occasion, made me a snack on arrival, gave me some amazing seafood pasta on another day and the best papaya I've ever tasted for breakfast. As other reviewers have said, she truly makes this place. Her advice on places to go and see that aren't a rip off was also amazing. If I come back to Puerto Ayora (or if anyone I know does), there's only one place to stay!!
The owner is very attentive and helpful. She organised tours and ferry journeys very quickly and accurately. She also let us use the hotel's washing line to dry our clothes, which we really appreciated. The kitchen was useful and I like the fact the fridge space was separated. I liked the location as it was closer to some more authentic Ecuadorian restaraunts that charge nowhere near the same prices as esrablishments on the seafront.
Hotel staff were friendly and very accommodating. Every evening they will ask you what time your excursions start, hot breakfast is served after 630am but if you are leaving for an excursion around that time they will make sure to have a boxed breakfast ready for you. Claudia, Carolina, and Jose were so wonderful and knowledgeable about the area. Carolina has the best restaurant recommendations!
The Suite/Apartment is very comfortable and well-kept by the owners. Connie was there to greet us and hand us the keys. The building is very safe, and the Suite had a small balcony facing the sea. The owner allows guests to go to the top floor terrace, where you find amenities, sun chairs, and a nice view of the bay in front of Puerto Ayora. Kitchen is modern and has all you need for your stay.
The room was terrific - a spacious, comfortable bedroom, handy kitchen, and a nice sitting area. Patricia, the host, was wonderful - friendly, very helpful, and went the extra mile when we ran into travel issues (unrelated to our stay) during our trip. We were more than happy to return to this property when we went back to Puerto Ayora the following week - it really felt like going "home".
Great location near restaurants, shops and activities. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They set up an airport taxi for us and even served us breakfast earlier than normal breakfast time. Hotel grounds are beautiful and rooms all seem to have a little front porch. Rooms are not huge but big enough. Shower had hot water and good pressure.
Couldn't ask for a better location in Puerto Ayora. Just a small block from the ferry docks and main shopping/dining area. The courtyard was beautiful and our room was spacious. The front desk staff was friendly and helped us with luggage storage on our checkout day and laundry service another day.
The hotel is away from the noise of the main street. The staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The room was large and bright. The bed was very comfortable with a good choice of pillows.
The rooftop hot tub and lounge area was lovely.
Breakfast was excellent.
The sisters running the hotel are extremely caring and friendly. The WiFi is awesome (by far the best on the island). Kitchen is huge and clean and well organized. Water was always hot.
No air-conditioning, but we didn't even need the fan in the room.
The location is really good. Just a block from the main road and near the port.
The bed was comfortable.
The price is good for what you get, compared to the other hotels in Puerto Ayora.
It's fine if you are only staying for one or two night.
A hidden gem in Puerto Ayora. Clean room, solid breakfast, and the location is central and most importantly quiet! Pedro the owner is a wonderful host and enthusiastically assisted with all queries and requests. Highly recommended.
The property was in a great location, right by the trailhead of Tortuga Bay and also by Laguna de Ninfas, also very short walk to the center of Puerto Ayora. The pool and hot tubs were great. Overall the hotel was good.
Its in the town of puerto ayora but in a quiet street. You only can hear cats and dogs sometimes in the night. The owner are very friendly and helpful, you get water for free and the daily room cleaning is also good.
Comfy apartment, ideal for a family stay. All amenities available, and host (Patricia) is just great.
Everything went so fine that we came back for our last night in Puerto Ayora.
Good central location in Puerto Ayora. Useful to have access to the kitchen to make breakfast / prep lunches etc. Room was clean. Good value accomodation.
