Stayed in Benidorm with a group of girlfriends. Felt very safe. Walked home along the beach at 01:30. Police patrolling in cars. The whole area was being washed and the beach being cleaned. More to Benidorm than we expected, it is possible to avoid the loud and drunk tourists (surprise most of them weren’t British). Great value food and drink, Levante beach is superb and so well maintained. The old town and far end of Benidorm have great history, arts, food and wines

I took my grandson who is 10 for the 1st time and he absolutely loved it. He fed the local birds by hand daily which is great fun by the harbour. Great beach loads to do everyday and the aqua natura waterpark is great fun too which is about 10 minutes in a taxi and cost about 11 euros. Benidorm is a good place, but only by car.
Benidorm is a good place, but only by car. Local public transport is awful. The buses are crowded and slow, they rarely go, but the worst part is the approach to the bus station (Estació de autobuses) and the tram (heading to Alicante etc.). The tram is far from the coast and the city, as is the bus station, and although it would be obvious that connecting with local buses would solve this problem, this is not the case, the local buses have very long and difficult routes, most of them do not go directly to the tram and bus station from the city (and the beach). Simply terrible.
