Newport is a lovely quaint town close to both Westport and Achill island. A perfect base for a few days of touring the broader area. The town has a few nice restaurants and pubs, although some of the restaurants don’t open early in the week.

A really lovely short term break in a relaxed village.

A really lovely short term break in a relaxed village. Very friendly atmosphere everywhere. Riverside only about 500 metres walk into the village and a very safe walk, so you can relax in the village for the evening and prepare your trips from there. Its also a very relaxing spot in Riverside itself with lots of sit out private spots by the river on the property.

The place was probably one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in! It was that good we try to book another night but it was fully booked (no surprise there) The staff were absolutely amazing!!! A credit to the place. The lads in the bar were great crack and made us the nicest cocktails! The hotel was spotless everywhere. Our room was incredible it even had its own coffee machine! We traveled with our little girl who is one, it was a super child friendly place. They provided us with a travel cot and came with a wee colouring sheet and crayons when we were having dinner. They even made us a pasta that was not on the kids menu. They truly went above and beyond for us. Highly recommend staying here!!! We will be back 💯

The staff were very nice and helpful.

The staff were very nice and helpful. But there was nothing only continental breakfast available in the hotel. If they served bar food or lunch or dinner. This would keep you in the hotel for a bit more time. The area is lovely, with lots of nice places to go. Staff gave lovely recommendations for nice places to go to see and eat. Just a pity that some of this wasn’t available in the Newport hotel. Last recommendation would be to clean the carpets in the corridors of the accommodation section.

Riverside is set in a beautiful, relaxing location. It was perfect for our overnight stop as we travelled around the West coast. Our room had a great view shown in the photo, over the river and was a perfect size with en suite bathroom. The garden is lovely to sit in or take a walk around. It takes about 5 minutes to walk into Newport where we got dinner in the pub over the bridge to the left. Breakfast was delicious!! You will love John's homemade breads and jams. Would definitely stay here again.

Situated in the heart of Newport, Brannens was a convenient stop on my trip up the Wild Atlantic Way. The room I was given (8) was towards the rear of the building, so nice and quiet. Bed was comfy and shower very relaxing - only downside is the room only has a skylight so no views and not much natural light. Breakfast in the morning was hearty and the staff friendly. Oh, and if you are looking for great fish and chips try the Port Chipper just over the bridge!

Very clean and comfortable apartment. Newport is a great base in which to explore Ireland. The town itself is small and not really a tourist destination but it's close to Westport and other attractions. I would stay again. The beds are comfortable, smart TV so you can access Netflix etc on your nights in. Despite being on a main road the apartments are quiet and a good night's sleep happened every night.

Location was fantastic The bus drops off just steps fro Walsh’s Bridge Inn If you are biking the Greenway the e-bike rental shops is also a few steps away. I liked that there was a grocery store almost right across the street The food at the restaurant is excellent - in fact maybe the best in Newport Everyone at the bar made me feel welcome and the staff were so friendly.

Erica was a charm, and so very caring about your every need. We were a party of 5 with 2 grandchildren, and she not only remembered everyone's name but we had for breakfast the the day prior. This is an exceptional place to stay, and if we're ever back in Ireland, this will be 1st on list for a re-visit.

Hotel is in a prominent, central location. Easy to find. Helpful staff. It has a slightly dated feel but it's also warm and comfortable. Some hotels can feel a bit Posey and sterile but this a nice old style charm.
