The location to the town was great, only a 5 min walk up the small bank to get to the town. The view from the balcony room was definitely worth the extra money, the views were breathtaking. Staff were all very polite and great at their jobs. The breakfast was much better than we’ve had before, variety of choice and always had hot and cold drinks available. The gardens were all well kept and very pleasant to be amongst.

San Gimignano, with the Italian sun glistening intently on its 14 remaining towers, cuts a dramatic figure from its position high on a Tuscan hill overlooking vineyards. However, it is when you get up-close-and-personal with this medieval-walled city and crane your neck to the blue sky that you truly appreciate its mesmerising beauty.
If you take away the swarming summer tourists circling the piazzas of San Gimignano, then this city offers you a wonderful trip back in time. The main square, Piazza della Cisterna, is surrounded by Romanesque buildings and Piazza del Duomo features Torre Grossa, the city’s tallest tower.
San Gimignano, originally an Entruscan village, was part of the ancient pilgrim route Via Francigena joining France to Rome. Its name was derived from the Bishop of Modena and is well known today as the Town of Fine Towers.
The 12th-century Collegiate Church of San Gimignano is a worth a visit with its wonderful collection of frescoes, and it also includes the Religious Art Museum.
Whether it is sitting on a restaurant terrace sipping some local Vernaccia wine or attending the lively Thursday Market, Booking.com has a range of San Gimignano hotels, guest houses and apartments for your stay. It was wonderfully located for our other side trips to Florence, Siena, and Chianti.
There was a lovely art store and shop for kitchen aprons, linens and oven mitts which can be custom embroidered where we made purchases.
And an interesting paper museum all within a short walk of each other.

Gorgeous little town, amazing food and really nice to walk...
Gorgeous little town, amazing food and really nice to walk around. It is clearly designed for tourists which has both positives and negatives. There is clear signage everywhere and the parking facilities are excellent (and cheap!) However it does get really crowded in the afternoon as there are a lot of tours in big groups walking around so would advise going early morning or evening. The evening time was great, very few tourists around and lots of nice restaurants and gelaterie to get dinner/ice cream.

A trip to Tuscany must include San Gimignano!
A trip to Tuscany must include San Gimignano! Highly recommend for its medieval charm, spectacular views and delicious food. It really feels like stepping back in time. It’s not public transport accessible and if you have limited time, hiring a car is the best way to go. Ample public parking is available as well.
We visited around late October so it wasn’t too busy compared to summer time and the weather was perfectly warm during the day and mild around dinner time. Light jacket only. It’s a photographer’s delight as there’s always a scenic opportunity as we turn a corner.
From SG we drove to Siena, another stunning city close by and not to miss! For lunch we were lucky enough to stumble upon a small multi-Routard recommended resto and it seriously did not disappoint. It’s called Osteria Nonna Gina di Lella e Dado. Some of the best pasta we’ve had in Emilia Romagna is here.
Also don’t miss the gelato at Gelateria Dondoli, they’ve won multiple awards and offer unique gelato flavours you really have to try.

If you’re in Tuscany, you have to visit San Giminiano.
If you’re in Tuscany, you have to visit San Giminiano. The city centre has a very special architecture and a lot of small shops and wineries. It’s the perfect place to spend a few days with your spouse. We had a wine tasting at Marronaia Winery, close to the city and we enjoyed it, but next time I would also try another winery, like Tenuta Torciano, which we tried a few months earlier. We ate a fantastic meal at ristorante Fuoriluogo, which I recommend strongly. I recommend staying as close as possible to the city, it’s a nice feeling that you can walk while admiring the sights.

I can't describe it, you have to be there, you have to see this miracle.
I recommend parking lots number 3 and 4, there is always space, the price is reasonable and you only have to walk for a few minutes, and there is also an elevator.

It is one of the most unique destinations in all of Europe.
It is one of the most unique destinations in all of Europe. San Gimignano is a must-visit when in Tuscany. Its medieval appearance whisks you back in time and one can easily transform the tourists to locals bringing their food to market. High-quality restaurants and a world-champion gelateria, what is not to fall in love with. Leave your healed shoes at home and wear comfortable footwear as the streets, side streets and shops are far from smooth, but this is just part of the experience
It is not often one gives 10 when ranking the room. Here, it definitely should be 10 :) Very nice owner, magnificient view on San Gimignano from the garden where the breakfast is served. The breakfast is not just a breakfast - variety of rolls, cakes, yoghurt - most of them home made. As usual in Italy - very good coffee. Very close, walking distance to the city. The owner recommended us a trattoria in San Gimignano and it was really worth the price we paid there. All over - no single item to complain :)
- Great and welcoming staff who are ready to guide you through the hotel and their wine selection as well as are happy to help you with booking a nearby local restaurant for dinner
- Amazing views
- Great modern rooms and outside furniture
- Good breakfast with excellent view
- Can book wine tasting or just ask a member of staff to assist you with selection
- Close to San Gimignano (~ 5 min drive)
- Get yourself a bottle of wine and relax on the terrace overlooking vineyards and olive trees
This lovely hotel was a highlight of our 14 days in Italy. It and the grounds were gorgeous. The staff were helpful. The breakfast was plentiful. The shower and bathroom were huge. We loved walking in the vineyard. We didn't use the two pools but they were so pretty, as was the landscaping, View was spectacular. Such a gem. I had no idea when I booked how special this pace would be. There's a great private patio and even a chapel.
Big room, quiet and one of the best views we’ve ever had from a hotel room. Perfect view of the San Gimignano skyline with the vineyards in the foreground. Unforgettable. Breakfast and dinner excellent too especially with the Mormoraia wine! Staff very friendly and helpful. Something as simple as bring your bags to your room and parking your car for you goes such a long way after a long journey. Grazie Mile!
The property is located in a vineyard, and a well-kept garden, an impressive place, friendly staff, the rooms are good and clean, the cleaning service is excellent, the breakfast is delicious and fresh, a nice and pleasant and clean pool, a neat parking place that can be reached at all hours of the day, we had a great time, many thanks to the hotel staff . Location near the nearby town of San Gimignano
Where do I even begin, from the staff to the facilities, this place was beyond exceptional. Best place we have stayed in during our 2.5 week vacation in Italy. Beautiful family run agriturismo and Fausto and the team were amazing. Breakfast was freshly made everyday by their wonderful baker. Wine tour was excellent and I had some of the best food there. I highly recommend staying here!
The number 1 reason to book this hotel is the view on San Gimignano. It seriously is one of the most beautiful views of Italy from both the terras where you can have breakfast and dinner, and from the swimming pool. Swimming pool was also very nice. What I found interesting was that a lot of the guests also had dinner in the hotel.
Room was really small and reminded me of a little ship cabin. However we had a big balcony with exceptional view. Room was clean, bed was comfortable and I slept well. I really loved the breakfast which was the best in our whole trip around Tuscany. The hotel is very close to San Gimignano and took a few minutes to walk there.
Everything! Picturesque property with the nicest staff and unbelievable food. Pedro and Diego have created something special in the hills just outside San Gimignano. Our stay here was easily the best part of our 2 weeks in Italy, topped off by a cooking class with Andrea on the terrace. It was a truly magical experience.
exquisite design detail; luxury at every turn; wonderful attentive yet discreet service; food was some of the best I've eaten in Italy and the presentation was Michelin started.
overall it is peaceful, understated, romantic and personifies what a luxury boutique hotel should be
We stayed at the property for a week, with a tour after an initial night on our own at the hotel. The hotel is well located for local walks and wine tasting and is very close to San Gimignano. The staff were wonderful and the food was good. The views from the hotel are amazing.
Amazing place with even more amazing personnel. Great experience at Casanova de Pescille! The beds we're definitely the comfiest we've had in Italy and the restaurant Zafferano was outstanding. Book now, I promise you will not regret!
This hotel is located in the heart of San Gimignano and what a beautiful town! The view of Tuscany’s countryside from the room was breathtaking! The hotel has a charming rustic ambiance while guest rooms are modern and accommodating.
Bernadetta and staff were always smiling and helpful. During our 2 week stay throughout Italy, this was our favorite place to stay. Her homemade breakfast was delicious every morning! Don’t miss it on the gorgeous terrace.
What a fantastic place! We were a party of 4 with 2 dogs and loved every minute of our short stay here. An excellent stop amongst the olive groves on our way down to southern Italy. Will definitely be visiting again.
This is a nice little hotel in a great location! So quick to get some amazing wineries and San Gimignano. The pool is lovely and the breakfast was pretty good!
Good location within a distance walk to San Gimignano, and the staff very helpful especially with the parking. The hotel has an elevator. Nice breakfast
