Staying with little kids, very impressed to come back today and find our room beautifully serviced and kids blankies, pjs and teddy's laid out on the pillow all ready for bed time. Bathroom reset was spotless and room attendant even did lovely arrangement of hairbrushes and toilet bags on bathroom counter

Awesome comfortable clean cottage. Great facilities and location. Had everything we needed. Hosts were lovely and left the lights on for us as we arrived late. Excellent value for money and great communication. Would definitely stay here again!

This place was perfect for me - I was doing business, needed a good, tidy, independent place to get a good nights sleep, with a good healthy breakfast (fruit and cereal). It was an excellent room, independent of the house, easy to come and go, pretty quiet, own bathroom and kitchenette.

We only visited the Supermarket as we had a Marie function just out of Hastings. We were there most of the weekend. It was beginning to rain when we all left and rained all the way to Gisborne. Hastings looks very tidy and upmarket. I hadn’t visited Hastings for many years. It was great.

This was a visit for a whānau gathering, so my itinerary was pretty much planned before I arrived. I know Hastings well and there are many great things to keep you busy and entertained if you choose to holiday here.
If you are coming to Hastings then a stay at Portmans is a great choice. Nice facilities, great location, really cool owners and staff. You can't go wrong!

This is a lovely friendly town and region.
This is a lovely friendly town and region. I’ve traveled here yearly with work and holiday for several decades. Even a week or so after the Feb 2023 cyclone slammed this town it was back up and running for visitors. Even with a lot of bridges closed, traffic still flowed ok with only minor delays during rush hours.

I was in Hastings to participate in an early morning fundraising activity so I was focused on accommodation, food, ease of getting to the fundraising site and buying seasonal fruit.
Got seasonal fruit on Sunday as they would not be open on the stat holiday on Monday.
Accommodation is good - cheap, well maintained, central location
Food - Could not find a restaurant so got take aways
Asked at large supermarket in Hastings for location of Flaxmere Park - staff discussion between 5 people resulted in none of them having heard of it.

The people are always friendly, there are many wonderful places to visit, lots of different activities, splash planet is always a hit.. Plenty of different places to eat out, theres a place for all diets.. Normally I don't cope with traffic lights however driving around Hastings does not cause me anxiety..
We love visiting Hastings..
The room itself was very clean and well presented.
Staff were great and were accommodating even though we arrived early for check in. After a long drive from Tongariro, this was greatly appreciated. Room was quite spacious and everything was there, although we didn’t use these, but great to know for future reference. We only stayed for one night as we had to travel down South. But highly recommend and will definitely book again if given the chance again to go to Hastings. Cheers!
We were kind of spontaneous here for two nights and are totally happy about our first Glamping experience. Awesome accommodation with lovely views over the vineyard. The facilities are top notch, with a great big terrace, comfortable seating, perfect kitchen, very comfortable bed and great bathroom facilities. Too sad we live in Germany so that coming again is probably not working out😅. A big thumbs up for Deanne & Trevor who created this diamond in the Hastings area☀️🍷👏🏽.
We were arriving on Xmas day and we were very grateful and appreciative that we were able at time of booking, to arrange early check in and pick up of key, as we were travelling through Hastings to spend Xmas Day with family in Poukawa Valley and it made sense to pick up keys early and not have to travel back in to Hastings & out again just to do check in. Well appointed rooms, friendly staff.
The motel was very clean. The mini bar was well price and pretty cool, TV, sky mini kitchen was perfect.
The owners a very friendly, helpful and caring
They help my mother-inlaw out when she had to rush over to the hospital.
I would definitely come here again and a definity recommend this motel to anyone looking for some where to stay in Hastings.
This is a room with en suite with a separate entrance, attached to a family house. It is ideal for an overnight stop in Hastings. The room is very well equipped with comfortable bed, tv, fridge, writing desk and continental breakfast. They have kitted the room out really well. Most impressive set up for a very economical price.
The house was incredible and spacious for my family of 5 (2 adults, 2 teens and a 9 year old). Would recommend to all visiting Sunny Hastings for the short or long stays. Close to amenities and most food outlets. With splash planet just around the corner it'll be an easy decision to make a booking at this fabulous 10/10 home.
While the room is less spacious than a hotel room (it is a bedroom in someone's home) the owners have managed to get all that is needed for a comfortable stay into the room without feeling squashed in. Breakfast was good with lots of fresh fruit. The room is quiet and very well located for our needs. Thank you
It was great being able to have a late check in as we had travelled a fair distance. The location was great. It was close to both Hastings and Havelock North and not too far from the Mission either. It was a lovely quiet location.
perfect location for what my partner and I needed for our stay in Hastings. Great bed, room well presented amenities all supplied dishes for meals washed daily by host. Ideal
Friendly, helpful hosts. The whare (bedroom) itself was well heated and comfortable. The location - rural but very close easy access to Hastings and Havelock
