Taxis are also available, but ensure to negotiate fares beforehand. Walking is feasible due to the village's small size. Cycling and driving are less common due to the hilly terrain and lack of bike/car rental services.

Great for surfing and if you're looking for a quiet place to hang out with a few good restaurants If you don't surf and are a swimmer it might not be the best place to be. The beaches are too rocky and not really equipped for lying in the sun and swimming.

El Zonte is a quiet surf town with good waves if you want to surf relax and eat well for very acceptable prices. Not for party people. On holidays and Weekends there is a bit more influx by Salvadorian Locals so it gets busy.

This place had a lovely clean room, accommodations for daily visitors, an excellent restaurant, friendly and helpful staff, and beautiful views of the ocean. We were surprised when the high tide brings wave splashes into the ground floor restaurant, but they said it happens all the time, and sit upstairs if you don't want splashes! If you want to reach the beach during high tide and don't want to immediately swim from their staircase, walk up the road to the beach access sidewalk. We were pleased with the efficient and careful guidance to negotiate their parking lot when it's really crowded and impossible to get out without help. You will enjoy your stay here.

If you want a semi-private, long stretch of sandy beach to walk on and swim in, the location in front of Palo Verde Hotel is the perfect spot! The low tide left several small pools in its wake, where we laid down and just enjoyed the warm waters of the Pacific while getting some Vitamin C!
During our stay, there were very few people on the beach aside from other hotel guests, which made for an unencumbered bathing experience that made us want to stay indefinitely.
