Aðaldalur

A balcony with an outdoor dining area and lake views is offered in every unit. At the farm stay, each unit is equipped with bed linen and towels. Everything. Basically this is a house with two bedrooms separately rented. It has everything you would expect to find in a house - full size kitchen/diner, large lounge, utility room, washing line, veranda - all fully equipped. Assuming you don't have an offensive co-renter, this is the by far the best guesthouse we have seen in a fortnight in Iceland. Additionally it is easily found in a stunning valley. It also has two friendly dogs. Two couples or a small family could stay here in great comfort indefinitely. Finally, in terms of British prices, it represents very good value for money. In comparison with typical Icelandic prices, it is unbelievably good value.

Víðigerði
Located in Víðigerði, Stóra-Ásgeirsá Horse Farm Stay features accommodation with seating area. With mountain views, this accommodation provides a patio. There is a sun terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. My stay at Stóra-Ásgeirsá Horse Farm was an absolute treasure, largely due to the exceptional host, Magnus. The highlight of my time there was undoubtedly Magnus's hot tub, which offered a stunning view of a waterfall. The juxtaposition of the warm water against the backdrop of nature's beauty created an experience that was both relaxing and invigorating. Another standout feature of the farm was the bar overseen by Magnus himself. It was here that I had the pleasure of interacting with Magnus's family, sharing stories and laughter. The welcoming atmosphere prompted Magnus to pick up his guitar, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to the evening. The camaraderie and music turned the night into a truly memorable experience. Participating in the Viking Thunder Clap with Magnus's father and the rest of the family was one of the most remarkable moments of my stay. This cultural connection added a layer of authenticity that made me feel like a part of the Icelandic tradition, creating a unique bond that transcended language and nationality. In the grand tapestry of our unforgettable experience at Stóra-Ásgeirsá Horse Farm, my daughter's horse riding adventure added a vibrant and colorful thread. The beauty of the landscape, the warmth of the hospitality, the camaraderie of the bar evenings, and the authenticity of the Icelandic traditions all came together to create a stay that exceeded all expectations. If you're seeking a place where both adults and children can create lasting memories, Stóra-Ásgeirsá Horse Farm, under the guidance of the remarkable host Magnus, is undoubtedly the place to be. The combination of breathtaking nature, genuine hospitality, and unique cultural experiences truly make this farm stay a treasure trove of unforgettable moments.

The farmhouse is a beautiful accommodation. The staff is very kind and helpful. The restaurant is lovely with its view (on the landscape and the cows!), and the food (mostly homemade with farm products) was delicious! I highly recommend.
It was a nice farm stay. It was okay for a one night stay. There is a shared kitchen, two shared bathrooms, a well equipped library and a massage chair hah! The kitchen is well equipped and a little breakfast (such as yogurt and museli) is offered. We felt like at our grandmas house which was very cute! The host was helpful and overall the stay was decent.
Ari and Freydis were so warm and welcoming and easy to get in touch with. We arrived in the middle of a snow storm and they had plowed everything for us. The dogs are amazing and friendly (but they will keep them inside if you don’t like or want to be around dogs). The cabin was cute and homey and was everything we had wanted in farm stay cabin guesthouse. We saw the northern lights here and could see them from inside the cabin.
very cozy farm house, best experience and people was very sweet and helping.
The unit we occupied was between two others. So, a little like a motel, but with a lovely rural atmosphere. Lovely little table set on the deck which overlooked the pastures. At the corner of the building was a hot tub which the owner filled upon arrival with geothermal water, which was then emptied after we'd gone to bed. Loved the hot tub and was one of the warmest we used while in Iceland. Owners were friendly and nice, and lovely farm with everything you'd expect on a farm.
A traditional Icelandic farmhouse with room for a large family and toys for kids.
A very special stay indeed. According to our host's email, the guesthouse has been in the family for three generations (it's an old farmhouse built by the owner's grandfather, and rebuilt to meet the expectations of a guesthouse). The rooms are comfortable, clean and well kept. Highly recommended!
A rustic stay in a remote farmhouse in a very scenic area. Treated to the sight of a round-up of a large herd of Icelandic ponies and an excellent night's sleep in this very peaceful and elegantly furnished guesthouse.
This is a lovely and welcoming farmhouse in a lovely rural area of Iceland. Great location - lots to do and see in the area, and the stay was very comfortable
