A recently renovated campground located in Bidiyah, Al Salam Desert Camp Bidiya features a shared lounge. Featuring full-day security, this property also welcomes guests with a restaurant and a sun terrace. The campground also provides free WiFi, free private parking and facilities for disabled guests. Access was easy: we were not driving 4 wheel cars and we did not have any problem in arriving to the camp. The camp is very well organised. The dunes behind are extremely convenient as they are just closeby. Tents are impressive, the bed was very confortable. The individual bathroom very convenient, excellent to see the stars while having shower. Staff is very friendly and helpfull, Sohel very nice. We enjoyed several of the proposed activities. We had the opportunity to enjoy different omani meals at the dinner, breakfast was also very good.

Sunrise Desert Local Private Camp

Bidiyah

Set in Bidiyah in the Al Sharqiyah region, Sunrise Desert Local Private Camp features a balcony. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. The accommodation offers airport transfers, while a bicycle rental service is also available.

Towels and bed linen are featured in the luxury tent. Additional in-room amenities include fruits. The camp was just right. Comfy tents and beds (on platforms), good food. Most importantly, it was quiet: far enough from other camps and city, only four tents in camp I think. So the desert night was quiet and perfect for star-gazing. This alone deserves their high reviews. But on top of that, Mr. Ali and his staff saved me with car trouble. Somehow, I lost my rental car keys... They helped me look everywhere. I was kicking myself and preparing myself for a delay of one or two days. But Mr. Ali located a car mechanic, and the mechanic made a new key (!) for a very reasonable price. I was back on the road in 90 minutes.

Hamood desert local camp

Al Wāşil

Guests will find a stovetop, kitchenware and an oven in the kitchen. The tent also has a barbecue. The tent offers a private entrance, a seating area, a terrace with mountain views as well as a private bathroom featuring a shower. The unit offers 1 bed.

The area is popular for walking tours, and car hire is available at the luxury tent. Choosing a place to stay in the desert can be overwhelming as there are just so many options. We chose Hamood’s desert camp after hours of research, and simply put, we can’t imagine staying anywhere else. From the minute we met Hamood at the meeting point, he truly made us feel like part of his family. He is a natural host: extremely welcoming, funny, and kind. We stayed two nights (highly recommend) in this beautiful camp. There are only four total tents in the camp, as compared to some of the larger camps with dozens and dozens. The smaller camp made it so much more of an intimate experience. The food was homemade and delicious. Hamood built a campfire each night after dinner and we sat under the stars, enjoying the company and learning about Omani culture. All in all, if you are visiting the desert you must stay here! You won’t be disappointed.

SAFARI-Glamping

Al Wāşil

Located 50 km from Wadi Bin Khalid, SAFARI-Glamping offers accommodation in Bidiyah-20 kms inside the desert from the village Al Hawaiyah. SAFARI-Glamping offers two private tents and 2 huts between the dunes in Sharqiyah sands. This was the highlight of our trip to Oman. The accommodation is basic but very comfortable and well appointed given its location. It was so quiet and peaceful. The food fabulous and plentiful. Farhad is an amazing cook and looked after us beautifully. Honestly, we will be back. We stayed two nights and wish we had stayed a little longer. To fully appreciate this part of Oman I think two nights is the minimum. Our host arranged dune bashing and a sunset camel ride. Both were really fabulous. The whole operation is super well organised. Very slick - we didn’t have to worry about a thing. Just one hint - have your shower in the afternoon when the sun has warmed the water a little.

Alsarmadi Desert Camp

Shāhiq

At the luxury tent, units have a outdoor furniture. All units have a private bathroom, free toiletries and bed linen.

You can play darts at the luxury tent. Alsarmadi Desert Camp has a children's playground and a picnic area. We've been looking to find a great desert camp for one night, as we really wanted to view the "desert" and its beautiful sand dunes. After reading a couple of reviews and prices, we decided to stay at Alsarmadi Desert Camp, because most people loved the friendly staff hosting this camp. And the reviews were right! Unluckily our daughter turned sick during our stay in Oman, and we were not sure if we could make it in time to the meeting up (desert pick-up by 4wd-car). Prior the trip we went to a doctor, so we couldn't respect the schedule. but that wasn't a problem, the driver al farouk was super friendly and told us, that we should just text him the time of our arrival and he'd pick us up. as soon as we made it to the camp, we could see a baby camel, and were greeted by baby goats, that we could feed. we loved it, and so did our daughter. the camp is very clean, the rooms are spacious, and every tent has its own bathroom (very basic, but great for a desert). the location is perfect...all you see is sand. there are no other camps around, and you don't see any villages from the camp. the manager/owner Saeed was also super welcoming. The whole staff: camel guide, and cooking staff, were super welcoming. We had dinner and breakfast and couldn't complain. our favorite part was the sunset.. which is quite specacular, watching it from a sanddune.
