Additional activities do not have to be pre-booked but many of the popular activities fill up quickly so it is advisable to pre-book if you want a specific time. Communication with the team was excellent with an accurate pin sent for the location. The camp is easy to find just off the main track. Arrival and check at reception were easy. They have an electric cart to move people and luggage around the site which means it is very safe for children to walk around and play. The tents are exceptional. Big, clean and well equipped. We had a shower and flushing toilet attached! At the back of the camp there are sand dunes maybe 200ft high, they can be climbed (or driven up) for a beautiful view of the surrounding area at sunset. The food was excellent with options to eat inside or outside. Inside tables fill up quickly so you may want to great early or wait until one comes free. There are plenty of tables outside. Again the level of service from the camp staff was excellent during meal times. The tent came with a small fridge, a kettle and air conditioning. There were a few mosquitos around but piff paff was provided and a few short sprays before bed solved it. While it was very warm during the day the temperature dropped at night and it is worth packing a long sleeved top/jumper for sitting outside when the wind picks up. The activities were well organised and ran throughout the afternoon and the following morning. Some activities prefer payment in cash and there are no ATMs nearby. The tent features a private entrance, a seating area, as well as a private bathroom boasting a shower and a bidet. The tent offers a barbecue, a sofa, as well as a terrace and a patio. Rashid is an amazing host and so kind hearted. The location is very isolated from the other camps and right behind the last dunes for an amazing view into the desert. Food was very good and plenty available. We also did the camel training camp visit which was very interesting with Rashid‘s explanation. Dune bashing with sunset was also very entertaining.

The free pickup from the meeting point was greatly appreciated, as I only had a 2WD sedan. Said offers coffee, tea & dates all day, and was always available for a friendly chat. At night, he turns the camp lights off so you can lounge under the stars. The dinner package was delicious, and I assume breakfast was as well, but I brought my own. Before staying, you must know that dune camps involve a certain degree of rustic atmosphere (tents, bathroom stalls), so if you are looking for hotel luxury, then book a place for 10x the price (and it might be similar, anyway). If you want a memorable dune experience with a host who provides a warm welcome and honest value, book here!

From meeting the brothers, the ride to the camp, the stories, the warm hospitality, the night under the stars everything was a blast. after arrival we enjoyed omani coffee and the sunset. than we had a delicious dinner and tea at the campfire. we opted for a sun rise camel ride, which was a highlight of our oman trip so far. the endless desert, the coffee made on open fire were amazing! the place is highly recommended for those who want simple, but real desert experience. thank you Nomadic Desert Camp!

The tents were made for a good nights sleep the authentic food was a treat. Fayez and the team made us feel at home. We will be back! Definitely the camp of choice if looking for a calm desert stay.

Located 50 km from Wadi Bin Khalid, SAFARI-Glamping offers accommodation in Bidiyah-20 kms inside the desert from the village Al Hawaiyah. We had a wonderful stay at the camp, we were lucky to be the only ones. We did the dune bashing tour, which was so much fun. The food was really good, we asked for vegetarian food and got amazing breakfast, lunch and dinner. We stayed 2 nights, which was amazing to relax and enjoy the vastness of the desert.
