The place is really clean and aesthetically pleasing. I enjoyed staying in the restaurant when they turned on the pizza oven, it gets warm and cozy. For the breakfast they had homemade bread (rare asset for the area, I rarely found good quality bread) and a delicious orange jam, among others. Hot shower was working well, the bed and the pillow were comfortable. I also enjoyed the company of the pets they have. We got 2 "guide" dogs with us on the 2 day trek in the canyon, it was a nice experience. Upon return from the canyon you can also pay for a shower (it was 8 soles with towel provided), you can rent trekking poles at a fair price and they provide free luggage storage.

Helping with everything from free advice and maps on independent treks in the Colca Canyon, to packed lunches with their amazing home made bread to the beautifully presented shop they have on site in the hostel! They allowed us to store our bags whilst we did a multi day trek in Colca Canyon and were able to have a well deserved hot shower on our return (for 5 soles as we weren’t staying another night). We just loved the set up (including attached restaurant) and hospitality!

In the hostel we met a lot of fun people who were on the same journey as us. Besides hiking we also went to see the condors and the hostel managers/owners Leandro and Ludwig even took us on a special trip with the locals to experience their annual celebration. We enjoyed it a lot!

The stay has several tiny lodges and 3 hotspring which are very nice after a day of hiking. The hosts are super friendly and will make you feel right at home. Home is also how the atmosphere in the restaurant feels, like dining with your family. You can chat with the other guests and hikers whilst enjoying the good food. The rooms are cousy,, the beds are comfy and the shower is hot. And also the friendly pets are a nice bonus:)
