he Araliya Retreat opened in 2018 and consists of three chalets overlooking a peaceful lagoon. Each chalet is beautifully decorated with original Sri Lankan artwork and handcrafted furniture. They are fully equipped with air conditioning, TV and Wifi. Each chalet has a large veranda overlooking the lagoon where guests can relax and enjoy the tranquil setting whilst sampling the fresh local delicacies prepared by our in house chef . ​ Board options include bed and breakfast, half and full board, drinks available on request. ​ This quiet retreat is perfect to unwind however we offer a number of day trips, excursions and activities for guests to immerse themselves in the rich culture, heritage and wildlife of the area. About Kalpitya: ​ Kalpitiya is derived from the Tamil name Kalputti, stemming from the words kal meaning stone and putti meaning elevation. The place was in ancient times also known as Arasadi, meaning in Tamil "place of Arasa tree". The place was in colonial era known as Calpentyn. ​ It is a marine sanctuary with a diversity of habitats ranging from bar reefs, flat coastal plains, saltpans, mangroves swamps, salt marshes and vast sand dune b
We like our guests to enjoy there stay with us. Their safety is our main concern. We have a friendly team of three. Our in house manager "LAKSHAN" is also a qualified Chef , who will dazzle you with exotic local and foreign dishes. We will also organise a weekly BBQ. Our manager will look after you and your family from the time of booking in I know you will enjoy your stay with us.
The Old Dutch Fortress is accessible to the tourists. Property is located Lagoon Fronted. Boat excursions start from front of the hotel. These are some of the activities.Boat tours are available from the hotel pier, including: Kalpitiya Island Hopping BBQ on Ganga Wadiya Island Tour of the Mangroves in Wilpatthu Boat and Safari Tour of Wilpatthu. Other actives include: Kite Surfing Whale and Dolphin watching Diving and Snorkelling Line Fishing Island camping Bicycle hire from hotel office
