Galata Tower
Medieval Galata Tower pierces the clouds above Istanbul’s skyline, a soaring sentinel to the north of the Golden Horn. A replacement for a previous tower that was destroyed in the crusades, this one was built by the Genoese in 1348. or hundreds of years, it was the tallest building in Istanbul – and its uppermost balcony still offers unrivalled city views today.

The place has amazing vibes with the cafes surrounding the tower and the cobbled streets and all but the crowd is just crazy. Everyone wants a pic there for whatever reason and they are a painful hindrance to enjoying the place

It's good that they have installed a set of lifts to get to the top of the tower. So you are not walking up too many steps. Best to get there early or towards sunset to see spectacular views with the mosques and the sea across Istanbul.

Definitely a must.
Definitely a must. Go in the early evening as the night lights are awesome. Museum Pass is a must - this is one of the places you can visit with it. I bought a 5 day pass for 700 TL at Topkapi Palace.

I always thought that this is only a tower, you go up, see the landscape and that is all.
I was totally wrong because there is a very nice and interactive museum inside the tower. I highly recommend it.

Istanbul is the largest tourist city in Turkey, and it is the only city in the world in which you find all the vital facilities, such as Istiklal Street, Otakoy Corniche, the Bosphorus Strait, its wonderful view, and many recreational facilities and cultural landmarks in this beautiful city.

Everything. Loved the area, staff, beds, pillows, accommodation. Clean, good facilities.
It's in an area just off the business of Galata tower area and some rooms have views of the tower.
Love that Meroddi do up old heritage apartment blocks
Would highly recommend
The location is perfect, just 5 mins by walk from the Galata tower. Tramp station 100m away that could lead you to Saint Sofia and The Cistern for less than 10 mins. A spectacular view to the sea from the 5th floor apartment. Spacious bedroom and living room with little kitchen.
I love my room, the hotel location is walking distance to the Galataport, boat dock or pier (from Karakoy- Eminonu- Kadikoy) with heaps of restaurants nearby, few mins walk to Galata tower uphill, and I also like the free coffee and hot chocolate vending machine on the 6th floor with nice view.
The staff were friendly and helpful. Thanks to Farouk and the other guy in the front desk.
The hotel is the near Galata tower and has a great location. It's located at very quiet and beautiful street. The main sightseeings are within walking distance; Bus/ tram station and ferry terminal are very close. Our room was small, but clean and we had every facility what is needed. We were very grateful for cleaning everyday. The stuff was very friendly and helpful, especially Ibrahym and Mehmet (if I remember name correctly). Breakfast was okay, and what I liked the most was fresh-backed bread; It was amazing!
in Pera Boutique Hotel Is set 10 mins walk from Galata Tower. The facilities are good. Sometimes they don't work, or we don't understand how to make them work, but staff is available to help at all times. Breakfast included does help. Staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. You can book activities straight from hotel if you haven't had time to book yours.
Location is Super, very close to Taksim, Galata tower, metro and funiculiar tunnel. Need only 10-15 minutes to reach also Galata port and Galata bridge.
New part of th hotel is vey clean and
Reception guys are very friendly.
The hotel's location is very good, close to Galata tower and Istiklal avenue.Personal is very friendly and polite, they helped with all our inquiries. We also asked for the airport transfer, and it was very confortable. We liked the breakfast menu and our room. We will definitely choose this hotel again for our next trip to Istanbul.
We had a lovely spacious room that was cleaned and freshened each day. The location of the hotel is great with easy access to galata bridge, şishane metro, funicular, tram, buses and short walk to galata towers or Karaköy, Pera area for great restaurants and bars. The rooftop terrace is great for enjoying sunset with a drink or sitting up there reading your book. Most of all we loved the friendly, attentive and caring hosts/staff at the hotel. Ishmail deserves a special mention for going out of his way to make our stay memorable!
Great location (although it gets pretty busy around Galata Tower, as it is a main photo stop). Very nicely appointed hotel with great courtyard. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are nicely decorated with good facilities.
The location of the hotel is perfect to visit the area around Galata tower and Taksim square and to reach other touristic sites by public transport. There are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby.
We stayed in a studio with one double bed and two couches that are really comfortable for sleeping. There was enough space for a family of four and there was everything we needed. We recommend for a short stay in Istanbul.

We visited the Galata Tower at lunch time and enjoyed a great meal with a table at the window. Our soup and salad were good and the view and atmosphere were great. Much better than being crowded onto the narrow deck above.

Absolutely yes! Istanbul is open restaurant. In every corner you can find perfect meal. Good to try fish restaurant in Bosphorous, or in Çiçek Pasajı. And also good to try restaurants in Maiden or Galata Tower with perfect city view. What it can be better than that!
