Rum punch lodge features air-conditioned accommodation in Corozal. The property has a bar, as well as barbecue facilities. Mike, Scott and Ali were so welcoming. They engaged in conversation and made us feel completely at home. We loved the terrace area, especially for enjoying our complimentary morning coffee and, in the evening, our cold beers purchased on site. The hotel looks out over the bay so the views are incredible and it is possible to swim from the pier outside. We were able to store our luggage whilst waiting on our bus on the day of check-out, which was much appreciated. This is a little gem of a hotel and, with the plans we heard about, is going to get even better. We can't wait to come back and stay again.

There is not much in Corozal. We had difficulty finding a place to eat and ended up at a hole in the wall restaurant where try served local food. The food was good on the up side.
I like the slow phase of life and the friendliness of the people. Corozal may not have the modern shops but there are many stores that carries almost everything you may need. There's also a number of small cafes/restaurants and Mexico is very close.
Fairly miserable town wit few food options for a touris. . Probably need a vehicle to explore the better side of the area. Water taxi to San Pedro leaves from Corozal is it's redeeming feature.
Corozal, like most of Belize consisted of many friendly people. There are a lot of expats in the area. Close to Mexico for shopping. Has some good and bad areas, same in any country though. There are a few more homeless walking around than in some places we have stayed, however they seem harmless. There are many stores to go to, the only thing is buying beer at the stores, the Chinese own pretty much all of them. They will charge you for the deposit on the bottle, however, most are ignorant and won't take them back and give you your deposit back. We had breakfast at "June's Kitchen" Very quaint and very good food. Friendly bunch that recognized us when we came back. Looking at property there ourselves. :) We had dinner at Patty's place and signed the wall! We also ate at Copperhorse Inn, very tasty supper.
I loved that it was close to the water. There was no beach which probably accounts for the lack of tourists.Everything in town is close enough that we walked everywhere we went.Love the amount of small local places to eat.Unfortunately the lack of vegetarian options on the menus was a disappointment. But overall I loved Corozal and its small town vibe and its definately the place I plan to move to when I retire.
Couple of great coffee shops near the market. I stay in Corozal to get provisions and there are plenty of buses and water taxis to see other parts of belize
We went from San Pedro, Ambergris Caye to Corozal on the Thunderbolt Ferry boat (USD$50 round trip) that took us 2 hours. It was a very nice and scenic ride. Here is what we think, if you like a place for drinking and parties, you would like to stay at San Pedro; if you like being quiet and peaceful, Corozal is for you. San Pedro is very expensive being on a remote island; Corozal is a refreshing surprise with food and things much cheaper. Both places have stunning green ocean waters. We are glad we went to Corozal after staying at San Pedro for a while. We will be back!
corozal is kind of scary , a couple were murdered the day that I was there.
We weren’t expecting to stay in Corozal, but last minute changes to onward connections meant that we unexpectedly had to spend a night in the town... but we ended up being very happy that we had to! Mirador Hotel was a very pleasant place to stay, excellently located right on the seafront and with a large roof terrace overlooking the sea. Staff were very helpful, for example recommending a great local spot where we could get dinner and drinks. Large room with AC. Overall, good value.
My boyfriend and I spent one night at the Rum Punch Lodge but we loved it so much that we wished we had stayed all week. This is our favorite hotel in Corozal! Free water and coffee plus a bar and beautiful veranda overlooking the bay; and even a dock to swim and fish! We didn't have time to take advantage of the free kayaks this time but definitely on our next trip. Thank you Scott and Mike and Dakota the dog for a great stay and good hospitality. See you in June!
The owner Charlie greeted us at check in and answered all our questions about the hotel and surrounding area. The staff was very attentive and helpful. The location is very good. close to the ferry terminal and it has a nicely stocked grocery store literally right next door. It is a great stopover for a border crossing or to stay in Corozal for a few days. I will definitely stay there again when we travel through Belize
The location on Corozal Bay is excellent, although only some of the rooms look out onto the bay. The rooms are spacious and bright, and the beds are comfortable, if a bit small. Because of its location outside Corozal and surrounded by a generous garden, it's also wonderfully quiet.
Great, comfortable beach hut in a beautiful setting. Came here for some rest and relaxation after some long drives across Mexico and back. Dave and Damaris were really lovely hosts, and I can't recommend them enough.
