We loved the location as well, as we felt removed from much of the tourism, in our own little private sanctuary.

Situated in Fortuna, 7.4 km from La Fortuna Waterfall, Noah's Forest Hotel by Tifakara features accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a shared lounge. We stayed one night at Noah's Forest in cottage 2 with private jacuzzi. Check-in was super professional, we asked for an upgrade and they helped us. Late in the evening we requested the chocolate massage for the next morning, which was so nice. The cottage is very luxurious. We loved the double rain shower heads, the LED lights and of course the jacuzzi on the side of the cottage. A big 10 out of 10 for this luxurious cottage. The food in the restaurant was delicious, we had dinner and breakfast and both we enjoyed it very much. Very nice vibe on the spot. This was our best stay in 10 days in Costa Rica, so absolutely worth the stay!! Highly recommended. Thank you crew of Noah's Forest.

The property is 10 km from Zoo Ave. Clean, spacious rooms with lovely balcony and views. A great start to a Costa Rica trip or the end of it. Hospitable households. Picked us up from the airport and arranged a transfer the next morning to Poas volcano with a final stop at La Fortuna. We booked one more night at this hotel before flying home. Thank you for everything!

Located in Fortuna and with La Fortuna Waterfall reachable within 10 km, Amor Arenal Adults Friendly provides concierge services, non-smoking rooms, a garden, free WiFi and a bar. Beautiful, stunning, really amazing place in the heart of the jungle. We loved these casitas. My husband owns an construction company and he was really amazed by chic and smart construction and detailed facilities. Wood, stone, glass ... nature in the nature. Also the surroundings, pools, restaurants (food was really delicious, thanks all of the staff), meditation area, wow. This is hotel type "must to come back". I wish, I want and hope it will not rain because this was the only thing I would like to change during our stay to be able to walk in the hotel forest trails. But this is also Cost Rica - rain and forest. Thank you ♥

Alajuela is a typical Costa Rican city
The city is like most cities in Costa Rica: not so well organized, full of life, colors, noice. There is not so much to see, except for the Zoo (Zoo Ave). It is a bit out of town but very good indeed! It is built into the forest, has lots of interesting animals in it. It is quite hard to find restaurants in Alajuela. You can easily find fast food but if you want something else, you need to use a bit time to find a place.
