In quiet and beautiful natural surroundings, the Finca Los Llanos is located in the heart of the Alpujarras, on the slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. Friendly and welcoming staff. Nice, clean room. Freshly renovated bathroom with hairdryer, toiletries, etc. Good restaurant in the building next door, which could even be called excellent given that it is in a village in the mountains. Parking place next to the hotel or plenty of parking space down the road 100m away. Wi-fi and even a swimming pool!

Offering a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, El Cercado is set in Andalusia’s beautiful Alpujarras Mountains. We were out of season with a few guests at the property, yet the check-in, room, and breakfast were handled well. The property itself is good if you arrive by car, walking from the city is a bit of a chore and requires you taking a car road. The apartments are cozy with good heating, water pressure, and internet connection, they are a bit dated, but everything was clean and kept in good condition. Nice views on the sunrise from apartment windows as well. Breakfast was plentiful.

Rooms at Hotel los Bérchules have a terrace offering spectacular views of the Cádiar Valley and Contraviesa Sierra. Wow! Such a fantastic, comfortable, and welcoming hotel! We spent three nights at the end of our three weeks in Spain and would have been happy to stay longer. Mother and daughter, Paula and Megan, are wonderful hosts and a delight to get to know. Make sure to plan for dinner and breakfast there as Megan is an outstanding chef. Our meals were fresh, creative, and so attentively prepared, the best we had on her entire trip. The hotel has super comfy beds and spectacular views and is easy to find with parking on site. Berchules was a charming village to explore and we loved the 25-minute walk down to the river with a place to picnic, read, or wade in the water. We highly recommend this hotel. On a side note, the drive to Berchules is an epic drive on a comfortably winding 2 lane road. Plan to give yourself plenty of time to savor the views and photo opportunities.

My partner and I got into a car accident on the way to the hotel and Francisco, the manager, truly went above and beyond to help us—he drove us back and forth from the hotel to the town multiple times, helped us contact the local authorities, coordinated with the tow truck, all while serving us a lovely dinner and maintaining exactly the sort of calm kindness that’s so invaluable in a crisis. Honestly, he made an experience that could have completely ruined our trip into just a minor blip. Thank you, Francisco.
