A beautiful town with lovely people! The shopping was great. Fantastic traditional food at the Tsipouradika which Volos is known for! The views of Volos from Pelion were breathtaking, as well as all the little towns in the mountain.
Portoria is a tranquil village nestled up the mountain in Pelion. There are many little villages around that you can explore, each with their own characteristics. Plenty of little walks around the village including the Manas Springs which was a highlight
Lovely vibrant city with some great beaches within 15mins drive or bus ride. Pelion has some wonderful mountain villages Voles and area very Greek so you may need to learn some basic Greek phrases, but if you want to explore the real Greek experience without all the commercialism it is well worth a visit.
Koropi is the ideal place for who wants to spend incredible relaxing days and to enjoy the sun and the beach . The sea shore from Koropi to Milina and Pelion mountain area must be also visited for incredible landcapes . Just go there !
Good amount of cafes and restaurants only a 15-minute walk away. If you have a car you can explore the whole of Pelion. You will also see that Milies is very well-catered for as opposed to some other villages. The nearest beach is at Kala Nera which can be accessed via a 3-mile hike or a 20-minute drive. Lots of walks are possible; I'd like to return in the spring to be able to access more of them in the cooler weather. The little train which operates between Milies and Ano Lehonia offers amazing views. The restaurant by Milies station offers excellent meals. We were generally very happy with the meals in Milies village and frequented Anna na ena milo almost daily for coffee and crepes! The running water in the area is fantastic! The views around Pelion are breathtaking.
Love Volos..has so much to offer tourists. Mount Pelion is the most exotic as u have 24 villages to tour and numerous beaches to try..especially mylopotamos and agios yianni. We stayed at Xenia palace in the village of portaria. It was amazing.
Lovely town for a few days visit. We spent one day driving around the Pelion peninsula and one day at the archaeological sites of dimini and sesklo and also the amazing village of makrinatzi. Volos has great eating options, a lovely waterfront, a really nice atmosphere. Definitely underrated.
Lafkos is a picturesque village of about 350 inhabitants located in the Southern region of Pelion. Contrary to the other "famous" villages of Pelion, Lafkos is by far less crowded and much more ambient! There are plenty of stone built mansions (some renovated today) and wonderful cobble stone narrow streets to wonder and certainly there is potential in the development of the village as a year-round destination. Its main square is definitely an attraction along with the old traditional coffee shop where you get to meet with the locals. I enjoyed a great meal at Niko and Afroditi's (don't miss here vegetarian dishes!) I also explored the neighboring Trikeri and had lunch at Agia Kiriaki! Next time I am definitely arranging a visit at Fabio museum and Radio museum but also some more of exploring of Neochori and Propiri. I consider Lafkos as my new great finding and I am seeing myself as a long time repeater!
"We needed to stay 1 night in Portaria and had been recommended Pelion Mansion by friends. After reading their excellent reviews, we booked straight away. The guest house is built in a beautiful, traditional style with a terrace that offers a stunning mountain view. Nic & Kat provide 1st class hospitality with locally sourced food , and we couldn't fault the clean and cosy room we stayed in. We would definitely recommend staying at Pelion Mansion and hope to return to Portaria."
Volos is a beautiful seaside city with interesting shops and quaint cobbled streets. The seafront with many cafeterias and restaurants is wonderful and one can walk well past the church at the end of the harbour towards a small sandy beach for a swim. There are many hotels to chose from and the nearby Pelion mountain range sets a magnificent background to the city. There are many picturesque villages to visit in Pelion which has a small ski centre and many walks. Highly recommended area.
Chorefto
The location is great, just above long and wide sandy beach. The beach is lively and has a nice atmosphere, but not too crowded, despite it hosts campers, surfers and some naturalist. The hotel is full of flowers and has a nice view over the sea. The bathroom is recently reconstructed and the kitchen has all basic amenities. The hosts, older couple, are friendly. Chorefto village is 5 mins walk, and has traditional restaurants and a grocery shop. Overall, very good choice for near beach accomodation, which is not easy to find in East Pelion.
My companion and I visited Galini hotel in Agios Ioannis. Pelion in fall is really beautiful ! Although there weren’t a lot of restaurants open, there were some open and we ate delicious food! The hotel is beautifully decorated in a boho style ! The room had a huge smart TV. Also, there was a hairdresser and an iron available without charge ! The room was very clean and comfortable ! The owners were so friendly and on call around the clock !! I would definitively recommend it!!! That Pelion area is amazing and we will come back for sure !!
Agios Ioannis Pelio
This place exceeded my expectations, it was above and beyond! Our family loved everything about this place - it was beautiful, with gorgeous views, minimalistic decor, clean and very comfortable, with attention to detail. We stayed in a maisonette which was wonderful. The breakfast was delicious, and the restaurant - one of the most beautiful (and gourmet) we have been to in Greece. The staff was polite, friendly, extremely nice. Last but not least, the infinity pool made this place the perfect hidden gem on Pelion.
Argalasti
indeed a very cost apartment in the heart of Argalasti. Furnished tastefully with focus on details. it came with all you need for a relaxing stay - huge terrace for morning coffee or evening wine, spacious and clean bedrooms. situated on a walking distance from the center of the village, while the village itself is in the heart of Pelion and one can use it as a starting point to exploring the most beautiful places in Greece. definitely will recommend the place to anyone interested in the area
A very nice hotel in Portaria/Pelion, modern renovated and designed, very clean and well-organized, with nice facilities, and very close to the center of Pelion. The breakfast was delicious and the pool was clean and with many sunbeds to relax on. All hotel's staff was very nice and helpful. Especially, many thanks to the manager of the Hotel Mr. Tilemaxos for all the helpful hints and tips that he provided to us during our stay there. We are going to visit Despotiko again!
We loved everything about our stay ay Olga Hotel: Mr Dimitris is an excellent host, with very good tips on places to visit and where to eat; Ms Anna is an magnificent cook – we couldn’t wait to taste her lavish and varied homemade breakfast every morning. The rooms are very stylish and perfectly clean and the mattress is very comfortable. The location of the hotel is ideal, as it is close to the beach and also to the main villages of Pelion. We couldn’t recommend Olga enough.
Agios Ioannis Pelio
We had an amazing week at Katerina's hotel. It was by far the best accommodation of our trip to Greece. The view from the balcony is breathtaking. It has a perfect location to explore Pelion beaches and mountains. It is just a few meters from Papa Nero and the way to the beach is so beautiful. In addition, Katerina is a very friendly host and was always available to help us during our stay. We totally recommend this accommodation to anyone.
Milína
If you want to experience the authentic beauty of mainland Greece, I highly recommend this place. We were blown away by the tranquil surroundings. It is situated right on the sea-front and walking distance from a quaint little village called Melina. We loved everything about this place from the decor to the architecture to the location. The hosts were kind and accommodating. Honestly, one of the most special places in Pelion.
Makrinítsa
Hotel Petrino is located between two beautiful villages of mount Pelion. From our room we had amazing view of Makrinitsa, the most beautiful village of Pelion. Katerinana Cleanthes, the hosts were very helpful, very polite, very friendly and made you feel like home! The breakfast was excellent! The rooms were very well decorated and were very clean! I strongly recomend the hotel to travellers to Pelion!
Great place with in a quiet location with ample parking- a rarity in Pelion. Sound of a creek next to the property is soothing and the views are fabulous. Wonderful complex of units and a very nice breakfast. This is a quiet location, but the taverns up the street has some of the best food you are likely to have in Greece. Hiking is very steep but n the area, so be prepared if that’s on your agenda.
Splendid apartment, very clean, equipped with everything for a comfortable stay. The apartment is located on the seashore, and the huge terrace offers a view of both the sea and the Pelion Mount. Situated on the main street, many shops and restaurants are very close. Very good communication with the host, with promptly answers to our requests. We will come back with great pleasure!
Mouresi
The place is so relaxing and so well organized. The room was specious (and we took the smaller room), Cosy and absolutely beautiful. The view is breath-taking. The room, the pool, the common area were all very clean. The location is great, at an easy distance from everything you want to do to in east Pelion. Breakfast was excellent! One of the best I had in Greece…
Makrinítsa
My partner and I are three-peat guests (return visitors) w/ Kiki and Vlasis @ Melanthi. From the warmest of welcomes, expertise for day excursions, stunning views of the bay and Volos, and oh-so-cozy beds, Melanthi is a remarkable place to explore a magical part of Greece in Makrinitsa and the Pelion Peninsula that will leave yearning for a return visit.
Volos
The apartment is very nicely decorated and perfectly clean, there is also a parking space right next to it. We had everything we needed. The location is excellent: close to city center (1.5 km), the nearest beaches are just on 3 km and 5 km away (Anavros and Alykes). The owner is very kind and wonderful person. We will book it again when we go to Pelion.
The hospitality was incredible, generous and thoughtful. The view from the hotel was, in my view, the best in Pelion. just stunning. Our host makes a delicious home made breakfast which is served anywhere you wish on the premise . The room was cozy, comfortable and very clean. Would definitely consider visiting again
Location: Portaria is a great place as a basis for exploring Pelion. The hotel is nicely located within Portaria, walking distance to the main square and also has some (limited) own parking Staff: very friendly and also professional, trying to do its best to enhance your experience. Unfortunately that is not enough.
Anilio Pelion
The accommodation is excellent, clean, and tidy, and the view is fantastic. We found ourselves in this accommodation amidst a storm and significant floods that hit Pelion and Greece. We must especially commend the hosts; they helped us a lot when there was no electricity, food, or phone signal.
Agios Ioannis Pelio
Indeed a five-star property! The best location we had in Greece. Pelion is amazing. And Papa Nero is wonderful. Excellent service and facilities, amazing view, very friendly behaviour of the host, surprise homemade breakfast every morning. We strongly recommend! We will come back for sure!
Agios Ioannis Pelio
We had an amazing stay at Aegean View House. The apartment was nicer, larger than shown on the photos. The view from the balcony is breathtaking. Communication with was very easy, who was very kind. Agios Ioannis is the best place to stay in Pelion, I think.
Malaki
Nice view over the Aegean Sea. Squeaky clean apartment with modern windows which keep away almost all the noise from the coastal road. Less than 10 minutes by car to Ano Lechonia train station from where the mythical Pelion narrow gauge train departs.
