We happened to be there when the fiercest storm in a quarter century (Hans) hit the west coast of Sweden, so we were forced to stay inside. Isbolaget was so cozy and comfortable that we were happy to do so, even though we didn’t get to explore the island and its neighbor, Styrsö. The staff is warm and helpful as well.

It was good value for money, even despite the fact that prices for hotels were quite high that weekend because of the Metallica concerts at Ullevi (which was also the reason we went to Gothenburg).

The location was perfect and just a short walk along the water to the town square. Our room, which was beautifully decorated overlooked the river. The bed was so comfortable it was difficult to leave it ! We got to enjoy a super breakfast in the garden.
