Safir Hotel Casino is a newly built complex at the Slovenian-Italian border, about 2 km from the centre of Sežana and close to a variety of attractions. The rooms are large and nicely designed, the beds comfortable and the shower hot. The figured maple veneered woodwork, the bathrobes and slippers in the closet and the large bathrooms at this hotel would be more commonly found at much much pricier establishments.

Wonderful English speaking staff, delicious food and impeccable accommodations. The lovely lady in charge of the place reminded me of a young Juliette Binoche, with a warm smile that made my heart skip a few beats. I would return just to see her smile again. 😊
