Surprise find: the Baltimore Museum of Art houses one of the biggest collections of Matisse's work. Very nice! Liked the Inner Harbor area and was glad we had a rental car to get a round. Ate at AE Phillips...it was a good experience but it was pricey (especially for their famous crab cakes made with Maryland only crabs) for the amount of food. BTW, the crab cakes were good but not compared to others I've had so was a little disappointed since Maryland is famous for it. Visited MICA and was impressed at how the school grew from one building into a small campus. Some very nice looking buildings there. The area surrounding MICA on one side was beautiful with nicely maintained row houses and architecture. We ate at the On the hill Cafe; small and quaint and we enjoyed all the sandwiches and dishes we selected. The other part of the campus nearer the graduate studies section felt less safe. There was very visible campus security around but still felt it could use more. The entire city has so much potential and history, especially since it isn't that far from DC and is near ocean waters, but unfortunately, did not feel that safe as we drove in and out of different areas. We observed that the city put a lot of security patrolling in tourist areas, but were approached multiple times by panhandlers while walking in the Inner Harbor area.
I've been going to Ocean City my entire life (I'm 45). I have many fond memories. The city, residents & business owners are committed to the tourist industry. I've never had a bad experience in Ocean City. The beaches are clean and now are smoke-free. The boardwalk is smoke-free as well. In the last several years, many businesses have gone through facelifts so OC has an updated appearance - it does not look old and run down. We ate at OC Brewing - our favorite brew pub. We also ate at Lombardi's - best pizza in town. Well, we also ate at Piezano's on the boardwalk and it's toss up for best pizza as well. And we ate at Higgin's Crab House - friendly service and the crab were perfect. The Little House of Pancakes - the best kept secret for breakfast. OC is easy to navigate - it's a walking town but there is also the bus and tram on the boardwalk. The boardwalk has great shops and Marty's Playland for skeeball and arcade games. And don't forget Dumser's Ice Cream! OC is Maryland's jewel!
I really did not get to see much of Clinton because I was there because a relative was hospitalized. I came to be with him because he had no relatives in the Washington, DC---Clinton, Maryland area. I traveled from Cleveland, OH to be with him. I ate twice at Ruby Tuesdays. I enjoyed the meals and the cocktails. I also went through the drive thru at Checkers because I was in a hurry to get back to the hospital. I usually bought my lunch at the hotel deli. (Don't recall the name) I carried the food back to my room and whatever I did not finish was my breakfast. I regret that I did not see much of Clinton. I spent most of my time at Medstar Southern Maryland Hospital with my cousin. I had to rely on a friend for transportation, so I really had no opportunity to explore the city.
Of course aquarium is amazing, but also check out Maryland Science Center. If you have a membership to ASTC museums (i.e. Franklin Institute in Philly), you can get in for free! My teenagers as well as my little ones loved this museum.
Favorite place: "York Rd place" where the cinema and some nice restaurants are located. Towson is a small city, not far from Washington, Annapolis and other nice places of Maryland.
Beautiful part of Maryland especially during autumn with the changes in fall colors. The people are very friendly and its conveniently located just off of 95. Plenty of options for eating and family fun.
I am a native of Maryland and been to Frederick many times. The main city of Frederick is a great place to visit. There are many little interesting shops. It's a place to park your car and walk around.
The Best University of USA was there, The University f MaryLand we visited was Awesome and real amazing. Self sufficient University with 40,000 students all over the world!!
I have fun riding the CHARM CITY CIRCULATOR, a free shuttle that takes you places you want to go. This is Maryland's secret. I have not spent a dime on taxicab going to my meeting and I am proud to tell everyone about it.
Maryland Live Casino was very nice. Convenient to outlet mall, which is less than 100 feet from door to door. Hotel was close by and offered 24/7 free shuttle service to casino, outlet mall, Walmart and airport. It was nice not having to drive once we arrived. This area is growing. The casino hotel will be finished in the spring of 2018. Driving through D.C. Was the worst part of the trip. We had a great time even though we lost at the casino.
I travel to Maryland for business about once a month. These accommodations FAR EXCEEDED my expectations. Much better than the hotels that I have stayed at. Fully furnished apartment that was spacious, clean and conveniently located within minutes of where I was working. The building is also located in the Woodmont Triangle so you have no shortage of options for food and entertainment. I will almost certainly be looking to book again at Global Luxury Suites Bethesda :)
So close to all Appalachian trailheads, state parks, and towns to sightsee in Maryland. Annapolis Rocks MD was easy to do from here. Breakfast was plentiful and lasted longer than any other place I've stayed at recently. Love the staff. So friendly, always available, really helpful with local suggestions and hotel amenities. Best refrigerator/freezer and coffee pot in two years. Best pricing ever for all the superb perks. Would stay here again.
Everything. Nice breakfast. Close to airport. Free shuttle service to airport. Close to Baltimore via Light Rail. This is the 4th time we have stayed at this hotel. It is close to family members who reside in Md. The seafood restaurants are the best like Pappas and G&M. As a former Marylander, I make sure we stop at Pappas or G&M restaurants for the greatest crabcakes in the world.
Really nice hotel not too fare away from downtown Washington DC. 30-40 min with car or subway. Clean and comfortable rooms, huge space of open / shared areas, work out and pool facilities, own parking garage, beautiful surroundings close to Maryland University. Several restaurants depending on your preferances.
The location was nice. the room was beautiful. the staff was amazing. this was my vert first experience at a westin hotel and in maryland. I was very much pleased. The food was great. the bartender gets an A plus from my husband & I. we enjoyed ourselves and look forward to staying here again.
We selected this hotel because it was close to University of Maryland Hospital. only a 5 minute walk. Very glad we did! The staff was very friendly and helpful! They made excellent restaurant recommendations! The room and entire facility was very clean. Furniture was all very comfortable!
I was there for an educational couple of days with my homeschooled grandkids. The hotel itself offered wonderful opportunities to expose the kids to history and being in the center of the colonial area and across from the Maryland State House was perfect! The staff was wonderful!
I was pleased with the excellent customer service from the Staff. My room was cleaned, breakfast was served every morning. I stay was a pleasant one, the next time I visit Maryland I will book a room at the hotel again.
Salisbury
The location is perfect. It's only a 20 minute ride from Maryland or Delaware beaches. There are plenty of stores, restaurants, eateries, and fun things to do within walking distance of the motel.
Location is great. Right down the street from Fort Meade! Parking was awesome also! Simply the best kept secret for Hotels in Maryland! I will definitely plan to return in the near future!
This hotel is very nice. It is always clean and the staff is courteous and professional. Out of all the hotels I've stayed in and around Maryland and DC this is by far the nicest.
The location was in walking distance to the Maryland State House. The entrance to the hotel was pleasing to my eyes. The desk clerk was very friendly, knowledgeable, and hospitable.
The hotel is a good place to stay near the University of Maryland. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable. Several food places are nearby.
It was clean and near University of Maryland since we were visiting for Family weekend. We stayed here before so didnt feel like it would be terrible.
I went to play poker at Maryland Live . Hotel was very close and it felt safe . Breakfast was all that I needed and the room was clean. Thanks
The hotel is very close to Maryland university and some forest part to walk. Also there are Liddle and seven-eleven nearby.
The breakfast was very nice, We loved the location, we plan to stay at the hotel for all our visits to Maryland.
I will give them the clean award!! That place is definitely one of the cleaner Hotels in Ocean City Maryland!
20 minutes from Maryland Live Casino. Plenty of shopping within 7 miles of hotel. 30 minutes from Baltimore.
The staff was friendly. Location was good to University of Maryland and highway. The bed was comfortable.
